C&J Construction built my garage in 2019. While the work they did and quality of the actual garage itself was good, the problems started upon attempting to sell my house a couple months ago. C&J Construction failed to pull the restrictive covenants on my property for the area that the developer had put in place many years prior. This left a substantial issue and monetary burden on my part due to their due-diligence that almost resulted in the sale of my house falling through. Instead, I had to reduce the sale of my house by a few thousand dollars so that lawyers can go through a rigorous process to obtain a relaxation of the restrictive covenant for my buyer. I contacted the owner, Joe via phone and was an extremely rude and defensive conversation on his part when I was trying to explain this issue and attempting to be compensated for their due-diligence for the money I had to fork out to deal with this. I then followed up with an email with all the information and paperwork demonstrating this from the lawyers and house paperwork, and received no response. I then followed up with another email approximately 3 weeks later and again received no response. I am receiving the silent treatment on something that they are failing to take accountability for and make right with their customers who spend thousands and thousands of dollars. Clearly their reputation as a builder means nothing, so here I am cautioning everyone who is thinking of using C&J Construction that while you may have a pretty good garage built, beware of when you go to sell your home and end up being on the hook to fork out a few thousand dollars or the sale of your house falling through for their due-diligence and then get treated rudely and ignored because they have no desire to make things right with the customers who ultimately keep them in business. Shame on you C&J Construction, shame on you. Never ever again will I trust you to do any work for me in future. That ended up being one expensive garage.
