Accent Contracting was such a great company to work with I had to write this review. Now, I don’t typically write reviews, it’s just not worth my time, but the work done was so incredible that it was worth the time to explain a little further.
Accent Contract, is a private company owned and operated by Carmine Bevacqua. He’s a family man, understands a budget, time line and knows that he should be gone before dinner.
We had spoke to Carmine in November with the plan to have our fireplace renovated in the New Year. Carmine then had a great idea, why don’t we renovate before the holidays, after all it “tis the season” for fireplaces. We, like any family, were a little skeptical to have the work done before the holidays. What if he didn’t finish and then took the Christmas week off? We’d be living in a real mess for the holidays. Carmine explained the agenda, the budget and again reassured my wife and I that it would be done on time.
We took one night to show Carmine ideas of what we had found. He was so patient, while we went through tones of pictures that we had found in magazines and online. Carmine took the time to explain ideas that would work and those that wouldn’t but still some how came up with a plan that worked for us. The next day he had tile and paint samples for us to look at. He was so organized, patient and available on our schedule that we went for it. BEFORE the holidays, Yikes!
The goal was to have it done in three days once construction started. So, I took 3 days off and construction started. I wasn’t going to just let anyone be in our house without supervision.
From the moment Accent Contracting came in, Carmine was courteous, polite and all business. You could tell he was making his deadline. He taped sheet plastic up to ensure dust was not all over our house. Shoes were walked to the construction area, equipment was moved in and within a few hours, the original fireplace was gone.
Fast forward – later that day I was in our office and Carmine came over and had a suggestion – lets add a couple of shelves with some lights underneath. I immediately loved the idea but was concerned about the budget. After all it was Christmas and didn’t have extra money for surprises, no matter how good the idea was. Surprisingly, Carmine assured me we would stay in budget. So that afternoon he was back with the additional material. That day ended around 4pm and the construction area was left as clean as could be expected.
The next day, he arrived on time and even had a coffee for me. Wow, that’s not supposed to happen. That day Carmine completed the fireplace, more or less. Tile was installed, the gas fireplace was working, the shelf lighting was working with a switch that was added and paint was drying. Leaving for the day, I was blown away about how quickly the project was coming along. Even some equipment was already moved out.
The next day, the last day to complete on time. Carmine again came in on time and well organized. He started by preparing for the custom cabinets to be moved in that morning. He completed the final coat of paint and installed our TV bracket. The cabinet guy arrived late morning and took about 3 hours to install. By 3pm, Carmine was showing me the final product with the area vacuumed and clean.
Now remember, we started with a three day basic fireplace project with custom cabinets. We ended with this – plus shelves on one side with accent lights underneath operated by a switch. All TV cables were run behind the wall and positioned in the correct place. It seems simple but obviously something I couldn’t have done on my own.
The fact that we had a new fireplace for the holidays, we had great additions that were suggested onsite, that Carmine was accommodating, clean AND he was under budget even with the additions is why I wrote this review.
Accent Contracting is the only contractor I will hire, recommend and use in the future. Call Carmine, he’s worth it.
