I cannot express how wonderful this company is and highly recommend to anyone looking for a roofing company. They are very professional and everything we discussed was delivered and more. They kept very close to the estimate that was provided and the craftmanship of the finished product is amazing. All of the folks that we dealt with on this job were extremely professional, polite and did excellent work. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone out there looking to have their roof done!!

After receiving three offers I decided to use National Star to replace my roof. It was a very good decision. National Star completed the work on time with high quality materials and did some extras that were necessary without increasing the initial quote. Aleks showed me pictures of the roof before and after, with details of the work completed under the shingles, and I am very happy with the quality of work. National Star stands behind their work. It is my impression that, as a family-owned company, National Star is very serious about building a reputation for high quality work and they are not in the business to make a quick profit. Would highly recommend National Star.

Sokol's estimate included things that were upgrades in other estimates. Tells me that quality of materials is important to him; and his estimate was good compared to the others. They came when promised ( 10 days after signing the contract) and with a large 8 man crew and finished the work in a day and a half. Being able to finish in a timely manner is important, given the variable nature of Calgary's weather in Oct and Nov. I have seen other 2-3 man crews working for 4 or 5 days. Having my roof done quickly was important to me, given that it snowed a day after they finished!! Aleks invited me to inspect the roof with him when they were almost finished and I could tell that he took great pride in showing me their workmanship. I told Sokol that this was the best house maintenance money I had ever spent on a contractor.

I was very pleased with the entire process of having my roof done with National Star. Sokol went up on the roof as he said he would, the cost of work was explained to me as well as the shingle types, etc. I was very happy with the care and attention afforded to the job, start to finish. My property was kept neat and tidy with no debris left any where. The job was completed on time with no unexpected surprises in 2 days, as promised. Requested quotes from 5 different contractors and Sokol with National Star was the only one to discuss why they use the shingles they do and how to install properly. We have a friend doing some work for us who is a civil engineer and has managed many projects in his career, he inspected the work being done and he commented that National Star had the best crew and workmanship that he has seen. We are happy because we have a beautiful roof and they certainly took care and pride in their work. Highly recommended.

In short, we made the right choice going with National Star for MANY reasons!!!! The constant 10/10 reviews are well earned!!!

We had a lot of erosion of shingles from hail this year (due to poor quality organic shingles), with chunks of shingle landing around the house. We also had sudden water accumulate under the carpet of our master bedroom, which various insurance inspectors (and their roofers) found to be due to a “freak wind/rain storm” which “must have blown rain under the soffit”. We found that wasn’t true when the freak September snow storm came and the snow on the roof melted.

We live in the hail belt of Calgary, in an area where almost everyone is getting a new roof. Our neighbour got a new roof a week before we did, so I watched closely how theirs progressed. Our neighbour went with one of the better rated ‘preferred vendors’ of the insurance company, and all I can say is….. we definitely went with the right company with National Star!

Only some of the reasons why they are awesome:
• Sokol returned my call right away on Saturday evening and was out Monday morning with an estimate (very reasonable compared to two other estimates we had previously)
• Picked up immediately what the source of the carpet water likely was (three other professionals missed it)
• Highlighted Insurance estimate shorts, provided satellite dimensions (which our insurance adjuster said he couldn’t do because of a tree), this resulted in a $2000 increase correction from the insurance company. They state their preferred vendors are guaranteed to work within the insurance estimate, which only results in cutting corners!
• Materials dropped off Friday, Roof started and completed on Sunday! (neighbour had material sitting for over two weeks, with 4 days to install, and leftover material still sitting there almost a month later)
•Family owned business; everyone knew their roles and worked together like a well-trained army.
•Walk around showing where previous roof was deficient, how they fixed it, and documented damaged areas
•Every member of the crew was polite, inviting and professional
•Roof looks incredible, way better installation than old roof and neighbour’s roof
•Clean-up was immaculate, important with a toddler and a dog
•Warrantee / Guarantee is FAR superior to the Insurance “Preferred Vendors”
•Stuck to their estimate.
•Very honest and professional, provides peace of mind

Again, went with National Star Roofing Specialists after doing quite a bit of research. Thank you again Sokol and crew for the fantastic job you all did. It was a pleasure doing business with you (and that’s hard to say with most companies these days)!

Sokol and his men did an excellent job of reroofing our house. Started the job when he said he would and finished in two days. His men did an excellent job of cleaning up you would never know they were here. He was also the only roofer who showed up to do an estimate when he said he would.
