Our project, an installation of a beautiful bay window, replacement of double front doors and back door including a storm door with a side window panel and multipoint locks, along with a garage side door had been planned for quite some time and we were ready to have the work done. Having had several widely divergent estimates, we noticed the quality of the work on 2 of our neighbours’ homes and called Fortress Windows and Doors. Steve Mercer returned our call promptly and came out to give us a quote which included all the windows as well. The cost was neither the most nor least of the received estimates. As other home renovations are currently in process, we decided to postpone the installation of the remaining windows for the time being. An approximate time was suggested for the work but unfortunately covid restrictions began creating major disruptions across industries affecting the supply chain of materials. As soon as the units and materials became available, a start date was decided upon. The team came out at the date and time agreed upon and efficiently completed the installation in a day (surprisingly, a day ahead of time) with a few minor touch-ups by Steve the following day. Covid-19 precautions were taken. At all times, the work was organized and clean-up was ongoing throughout. During and after installation, Richard and Steve explained the process and Richard ensured that we understood the operation of the new windows and the new door locks. I had a great experience with Fortress Windows. They (Richard) responded quickly to my request for a quote to replace all of the windows in my main floor and upper floor and proposed a solution for a bathroom window replacement in the process. Communication re: start date and what to do to prepare for the install was excellent. The Fortress came on the scheduled day and completed the install of all of the windows as well as the outside work and clean up in one day. It was awesome. Richard also followed up with me after the work was completed to check if I had any questions or issues. Fantastic company and very professional.

It was warm right after installation so, it felt like spring in my house with the better ventilation of my new windows and the clarity of the new glass. Then, when it got cold, the house was warm and toasty from the improved insulation. So I'm really happy with the 15 windows and secured sliding patio door that Fortress installed for me this March 2021.

Fortress wasn't the cheapest alternative but it wasn't the priciest either. But dealing with them was great as Steve patiently answered all my questions and made some valuable suggestions. Then, when it came time to install, all I had to do was clear enough space in front of each window for them to work and they took care of the rest. By electing the brick to brick option, Ashot and his installation crew produced a fit and finish that was miles ahead of my builder's original efforts: just beautiful.

Bottom line is that Fortress is a pleasure to work with and I would recommend their product to anyone considering an improvement to their windows or doors.

Long story made short, a rodent invasion led to a complete demo and renovation of our basement. After going back to the company that installed the majority of our windows in the past, I was turned down by saying they could not do such a small job; more important to me, they would not honour a past client and help a family dealing with a troubling situation during an unprecedented time.

After looking through the Homestar listings, I found Fortress. My inquiry was replied to in under 3 hours by Steve, and in a few days had Richard survey the issue and offer several solutions. What I appreciated the most was that Richard was more concerned with helping my family than fast talking me and making the biggest sale possible. This company truly appreciates people! We ordered 6 new windows and a storm door in November 2020. Due to Covid the windows were delayed by about 6 weeks and were installed the beginning of February 2021.

Our new windows are beautiful and Steve, Steve and Ashot did a fabulous job from beginning to end replacing our almost 40 year old windows.

The house is warmer and our Yorkie loves his new bay window.

Fortress has a most professional and efficient team. They installed the new sliding door most efficiently and with great work ethic. I am extremely happy with the end results and would recommend this company without any hesitation.

Their setup was neat and didn't really make a mess and they cleaned thoroughly after they were done. They were also very friendly. Great job ! They replaced two old windows. There was some delay in installation as they had problems in materials (glass) procurement. I’m happy though with the two new windows.

We found the service is good and reliable. Technicians are professional that the window was installed quickly and efficiently on the same day. In spite of pandemics time, we were contacted as soon as the window material arrived from the supplier. Richard is conscientious.
