Beaver Brothers Decks

Anton and his brother did a great job. We love our cedar deck! I don't usually write reviews but I really felt they went above and beyond. I'm a bit of a control freak so I even went to the lumber yard with them to pick out wood. A lot of contractors probably wouldn't have let me. Anyway, I was surprised at how much time they took to pick out wood. They rejected a lot, even ones that I thought was fine since I didn't know what I was doing. I also made sure I was home while they were building and they even picked through the wood when they were building the deck so the good face is on the top. They really seem to care about the quality of their work. Anyway, i was impressed.

The only downside is they probably took a little longer than I thought it would but I rather they take their time and do a good job than rush it and quickly put up a deck especially given that we were building a custom cedar deck.

The thing that impressed me the most was when my deck lights burned out. The deck was getting expensive for me so i cheaped out and bought deck lights from Costco. They look really nice and they probably half the price or less from other places. The problem is, after about a month 6 of them burned out. When i called them about it, they came over that week on a Saturday during their day off and replace the lights for me . . . luckily I bought 1 box too many. They showed me how it was wired and explained to me how they didn't think it was the transformer (i bought that at Home Depot) or anything else they did and everything made sense. The only explanation was the lights were probably not manufactured properly from Costoco and we're hoping it was just the one defective box. I was afraid of that when I bought it from Costoc and even joked about it. they only good thing is they will take it back. If I were to do it over again, i would just get them to do the lights. After me, they probably won't let you provide them with cheap lights.

Anyway, overall, we are very happy with the deck and highly recommend them. I'm going to see if I can post some pictures as well.
