Project was done in an acceptable manner and time frame. Alex the Manager of Installation was great and had very good understanding with regards to the products sold by SWD.

Project
We have a very bad experience with SWD. We required windows that reduced sound dramatically. We chose them because of the Salespersons live demonstration of the product which we believed addressed the problem. We paid a premium for a product built by Vinylbilt Products and never even negotiated the price, because we thought we were getting a 'top of the line product'.
However, once the windows were installed, we saw no improvement when compared against the windows that were being replaced which were 15 Years old. In fact, we believe the performance of these windows are inferior. Prior to the installation, we had also specified in our contract that our recently purchased customized blinds would have to fit in the new windows. Of course the installers did a poor job and the blinds did not fit. At one point, the installer decided to forcefully put the blind in the new opening, and in the process damaged the blind. Fortunately, their Manager of Installations (Alex) took it upon himself to fix the situation and replaced the blinds.
With regards to the product, it was not what the Salesperson showed us during his sales pitch. He showed us a glass that was much thicker than what is installed on our windows. When we complained about this, he actually came over and tried to compare his sample against the glass on the windows and was also surprised with the difference in thickness!
It has been a few months since the installation. We are still suffering with extensive noise that these windows were supposed to suppress. We are waiting for the Vinylbilt representative to come and inspect the glass, but we don't think that will happen for some time!
Additionally, we have noticed air gaps between the new windows and the openings. Unfortunately, due to a poor installation it seems that a lack of insulation has been used to eliminate any air gaps. Perhaps this is also contributing to the excessive noise.
Unless I continuously pester SWD, it has been difficult getting a resolution on this matter. It seems like I will have spend more money to fix the issue fully. However, this matter will also be report the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
I would not recommend Stittsville Windows & Doors to our friends. Take your money elsewhere!
