Painting of living room, entryway, hall and bedroom
It's unfortunate that this isn't a happy review. Sadder still because if I had simply heard back from the company in regards to my concerns, I'm sure the review would have been a much more positive one. But Wow Painting has demonstrated to me that they are only interested in one-time business and do not stand behind their services.
I completed their survey that they sent after the job was complete with detailed comments. I heard nothing.
I then sent a very detailed email to the Operations Manager and Sales Rep who had organized my paint job. No response.
Here is what I detailed in my email. I don't think any of these are outlandish concerns:
Overall, I'd say the paint job that was done was alright. It's better than I would have done on my own and was definitely quicker but I can't say that it's as professional as other paint jobs that I have paid to have done.
The painters did not remove any of the light switches or outlets. Some of them have some paint on them, I can live with that, but now I am stuck if I want to replace any of the covers with something a slightly different size or shape as the old paint colour will show through.
They did not tape. And for the most part they did a good job, however, around my window sills in the living room, the painting is very sloppy. There is uneven paint all over my window trim. This looks pretty awful.
I spent a fair amount of time washing paint splatters off of the tiles in my entryway.
They splattered the living room paint colour on to the archway of the kitchen and just left it. So now my kitchen entrance way has the dark kitchen colour with splotches of the lighter hallway colour. I can't rectify this as I don't have any of the kitchen paint.
In the bedroom, when they arrived I showed them that there were old blinds up. I told them that I had tried to take them off that morning as I was planning on throwing them out. I asked if they could help as my hands were not strong enough to unscrew. I also said if they could not, that I would continue to try to remove the screws. They assured me they would take them down. By mid-afternoon they had started painting in the bedroom and were painting the window sills with the blinds still up. I asked them another two times if they were going to remove the blinds. They said yes. They never ended up removing the blinds. When I asked them why as they were leaving they said "we don't have a screwdriver"... obviously I do. They could have asked, or I could have continued to try. So now, I have two spots up near the top of the window frame (where the hardware was hanging down) that are unpainted.
Also in the bedroom, they failed to fill a set of holes up near the top of the wall. They are very obvious, so this was clearly not just an oversight.
Finally, this is kind of the weirdest thing that happened. I was home all day with the painters. When they left, I discovered my hairdryer laying on my bed. Just tossed there. I definitely did not put it there. So they obviously used it to speed up the drying of some plaster or paint but they did not ask me if they could use it. They did not ask me if I had a hairdryer. So this means they went into my bathroom, rummaged through my cupboard, found the dryer and then used it (and then didn't bother to return it to the bathroom). I find this particularly unprofessional.
