Prominent Homes

We have had nothing but problems with prominent homes since purchasing in 2020.
We have been pushed around, not responded to, ran around in circles with still no step in the right direction.
To start we noticed issues before we even moved in and were promised they would be fixed.
Issue 1- our railing going upstairs was pushed into the wall causing damage and was also loose we asked for this to be fixed prior to being moved in ( when we moved in the railing had been " fixed" by adding putty and the railing being installed in the exact same location which was not even a stud)
This railing actually fell out of the wall when my 2 year old's head bumped the railing 2.5 months after moving in.
Issue 2 - Our vinyl flooring on the main floor has been damaged as well as improperly installed since purchase, after several emails they said they would be in to fix it. The first repair was made with a hair dryer and a rubber mallet as the prominent employee was completely sure that I as a woman could not be possibly right as it must just be shifting even though it was visibly not, i said the damaged pieces need to be replaced not re stuck. After having the area supervisor come in he said that the pieces needed to be replaced so 2 boxes of flooring were brought to my home to be installed after 2 install dates delayed and cancelled and us continuing to contact them they finally came to our home with the flooring company that makes the vinyl to be told by the flooring company that the entire floor needs to be replaced as they built the subfloor wrong and it was not the product they have since refused to discuss fixing this and have referred us to Home warranty which we can no longer claim as it is past our 1 year and they knew this.
Issue 3- Our basement stairs are supported by 1 2x4 yes you read that right 1 2x4 our home inspector was appalled at the complete lack of care as this could cause serious injury and we have young children in our home when this was brought up they said it would be fixed
These are the 3 GIANT issues among lots of little defects in our home
All of our emails to prominent homes have now been ignored and phone calls unreturned and we are stuck between Alberta Home Warranty , Fixing it ourselves, or a legal battle. This is completely physically and emotionally draining dealing with a company with a obvious lack of care and poor customer service
We would NOT recommend this company to anyone

Extremely unprofessional. This company builds homes quick, and takes no pride in their workmanship. Poor mud and taping, cabinets not properly installed, paint on the floors, carpet coming apart in under a year. With all these issues, good luck getting ahold of them! They refuse to come out and fix the issue, and try to blame the homeowner for their building mistakes. Our next house will not be built by Prominent!

This builder has threatend legal action if I did not remove my review. From this single statement I'll let you draw your own conclutions as to the content of my review and the character of the builder.
