Paradisaic was contracted to design and build a pagoda utilizing the South American hardwood, ipe. Initial construction estimate was two weeks but since ipe is a very dense, very hard, very difficult material to work with construction actually took two months. The finished product is a work of art and has garnered much appreciation from all who view it. You can watch a short video of the finished garden here: http://youtu.be/waggRfo8D90. Since the garden has a three foot deep pond it was necessary to install gates enclosing the property. Select cedar was specified for the gate construction but fence grade cedar was used instead. Unhappy with the gates I contracted with Paradisaic to replace them with ipe gates. After more than two years the cedar gates, which are now falling apart, have yet to be replaced even though Paradisaic received a deposit on the replacement contract.
