Boiler Maintenance

We highly recommend Kris. He cleaned and serviced our boiler and replaced a few parts that had been improperly installed. He was prompt and pleasant and his price was reasonable. In addition, he also explained things clearly. We highly recommend him.

Radiator pipe replacement

We've had Kris over to our new house three times, first to get the radiators on the second floor working and then on two other occasions to replace corroded pipes (one that could have burst any day if it wasn't for Kris intervening). His work is good and his prices are reasonable. If you have radiators that need servicing, he's your man.

I don't hesitate to recommend him highly.

Radiator valves replaced, heating system maintenance

Assisted Review

An assisted review is collected by a contractor on behalf of the homeowner after their work is completed. The homeowner must confirm the text of the review and may make any changes she or he deems appropriate. The homeowner then assigns the contractor a review score out of 10. Assisted reviews receive the same scrutiny as other reviews and must follow our review guidelines.

We were referred to Denmark Mechanical from Addison's to replace the radiator valves in our place of business. Kris and his crew finished all of the work in the time frame required with no leaks or other issues and cleaned up after themselves. Since then we have had him come to assess and replace defective parts of our heating system and for plumbing jobs at our home. We will continue to call Denmark Mechanical for any other needs we will have in the future.

Radiator and hot water retrofit

We hired Denmark Mechanical for a number of heating/plumbing updates, including installation a new bedroom (antique) radiator, replace some old radiator valves, install a new gas line for a range, and convert our domestic hot water system over from electric to gas.
Kris was very professional, extremely prompt, and was able to complete all the work in the exact timeframe he had predicted, for the quotation we had previously discussed.
We are definitely happy with our cozy new heating system - would definitely call again.

Hi Craig, getting all of your old radiator valves changed to new ones was definately the right thing to do, and the indirect hot water tank will provide an abundance of hot water at a much lower cost than the electric tank. It was a pleasure working for you and we look forward to working together in the future. Thank you for writing a review.

Removing & repositioning hot radiator pipes

Kris respond back to my call right away and even called me back later to meet us earlier than he first scheduled us. After he gave us a quote, they start the job right away as expected. We are very happy with their work. Although one of the pipe leaked because it was not tight enough, Kris came back right away after we called him to fix it. I would definitely recommend Kris and use him again.

Boiler Service, Radiator Function Repair

In order to give you the proper scope for this review, I have to tell you that although I used Homestars to find Kris, I signed up to the site just now specifically so I could write this review...that's how excellent Kris and his service is.

It is also important to note that I had this problem in the past (before I knew about Kris) had others come in spent a decent amoutn of $$ and a solution was not provided (ended up using a temporary electric heater).

I called Kris on Saturday while I was out of town in Buffalo to help me with a problem (Radiators on my upper floor were not functioning at all). He called me back on Saturday but as I was out of town, I did not get back to him until Sunday. Monday Kris was at my house around 1:30 - 2:00. He evaluated the serviced my boiler, evaluated the radiator problem, gave me his advice as to how to solve the problem (which involved replacing a few defective parts of the system), but each was absolutely necessary and never pushed replacing anything unnecesary. Kris stayed until around 7:30 (which is as fast as the job could have possibly been completed). The most pleasant, humble and professional service I have had.

I would without a doubt recommend Kris to any family member, friend or anyone that was in need of service. He is completely honest and trustworthy and would not hesitate for a minute to let him into the house even if I was not there. I will be calling Kris for any issues I have in the future, which after his service seems like it will be just regular annual boiler maintenance.

Thanks Kris!

What could this company do to improve their services?
The only thing Kris could do to improve would be to clone himself so there were more of him!!
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Call Kris @ Denmark Mechanical before you do anything else. By far will be the best decision you could make and his services will be the best, most professional, kindest, honest and fairly priced.

Hot water radiator installation after kitchen reno

Kris Denmark was what you hope for when you call a professional contractor. He replies promptly to all messages and extremely punctual. Very careful when he works, great creative problem solver. Very knowledgeable and personable. He was recommended by Jim at Addison Plumbing and would call Kris again for sure! Thanks for installing our beautiful vintage rad.

That was a beautiful radiator, its a pleasure to see it back in service. Addison's Inc has some real jems. There was definately some obstacles with the new floor changing the height so that the radiator wouldn't initially line up, but I'm glad you like my solution. Thank you for writing the review.

Relocating radiators for kitchen reno

Right from the start, I knew I had called the right guy!

Kris (and Denmark Mechanical) is a shining example of what you wish you could expect from any professional contractor: on time, on budget, courteous, informative, accurate (measures 3x), great communication skills, empathetic to the homeowner, intuitive, tidy... and true to his word. A good planner, excellent workmanship, great personality. He's even followed up with us about the finished reno to make sure all is good. That's the short story.

Here's the longer story:
Beginning of August -- Our GC was uninterested in including in the scope of work, the removal of two rads for the duration of the reno, then to relocate one of the rads, due to replacing a window with a patio door...which they also left us dealing with on our own (see our HIP review)

Mid-August -- After checking HomeStars, we had a few plumbers to contact. However, I got a return call from Kris almost immediately. I explained what I wanted over the phone, he was ready to make an appointment and gave me a list of things to do prior to his arrival. In between that call and his appointment, he called back twice to remind me of a few details and confirm meeting at 9.30am.

End of August -- He brought help with him and, came ready to work but, not before discussing and clarifying our options and, then his plan of action for the coming weeks of the reno. Once agreed, he set to work and even carried the rads to the garage so i could repaint them!

September -- main reno starts and goes till first week of October (Denmark not involved)

End of September -- Throughout the process, he had paid remarkable attention to details i had forgotten and was completely ready to re-install the rads on an emergency call because of an issue with measurements for the adjacent cabinetry. Again, deliberate effort to maintain contact with client, keep us informed and even re-checking with me before cutting holes in floor for new location of rads. Suffice to say, they did a great job, thanks! It was refreshing to have a work done in my house that i didn't feel "stuck" with or that didn't leave us with unexpected compromises.

By far, one of the best experience i've had with a contractor (and I've met some really good contractors!), one that left me wishing Kris Denmark also did kitchen renos! A definite invite to the house warming party, once we get our oven/stove working but... that's another story...

Cheers, Chris!
