We recently had the old vinyl siding on the entire house replaced. For me, 4 stars is what I provide only when work is done as expected. 5 stars is reserved for work done above and beyond expected. In this case, 5 stars for the whole company, from first contact to job completion, to payment(s).
Jesse was the person who estimated the job. I wasn't available at the time he checked out the house, but he arrived, did his work and left the location in the condition he found it. After getting the quote, I asked for a modification to the job and he was very agreeable and said that the extra cost of doing so was minimal.
Before the work started, I wanted to see some samples. Angel in the office arranged for one of their installers, who lived nearby, to bring a sample book. He let us keep the samples which we returned when the work started. We were then able to make a comparison of the colours and qualities and made our decision.
Shannon was our contact for making arrangements for payment. Only 30% was required as a deposit. They accept e-transfer, and with our transfer limit we had to make 3 transactions. No problem.
Obviously, the work on the house is the most important. All work was done in a professional manner. Josh and his team (Ian and Ray) did the work with the most care, and extremely thoroughly. Removal and haul away of the old siding, removal of two awnings, haul away of one which we never used and reinstallation of the other which is used every day, prep for install, install of underlayment, and install of new siding. They boxed in, with metal flashing, all the pipes that come through the wall, metal flashing everywhere, all the expected stuff, some unexpected stuff and then caulking. Josh provided information regarding what they will be doing, what they did every day and what had been done in the past. The original siding on the gables on our home (built in the mid '70s) was backed with drywall, which over the past 50 years had become soggy, mouldy and could not be used as backing anymore. Josh pointed this out and told us what needed to be done to correct it. They replaced it with good solid plywood, which will remain good for the rest of the life of the house, without disturbing any of the attic insulation. The house looks fantastic now, and with all the underlayment, fully taped to prevent wind infiltration, we expect to be a bit warmer in the house this winter.
Only when the work was completed did we get the invoice for the balance of the job. This is fantastic, since there were no worries about paying the whole amount up front and wondering if the job would be completed to our satisfaction. Finally, I talked with Shawn in the office regarding payment, and he had no problem with 9 e-transfers.
Fantastic company all around.
