My husband and I were relocating our family from Nova Scotia to Ontario and needed to be set up before the beginning of the school year. Royal Vanlines was extremely helpful on arranging a quick pick up, and delivery to our new home, but that is where it ends. Of the 2 man crew that showed up only 1 of them worked. The other walked around on his phone, talking to everyone under the sun, smoked cigarettes and asked my husband to drive him to the store for water, and later take him to town for food. For the record we were located in a rural area, the nearest store was a half hour drive, which my husband did twice. After 8 hrs they finally left with our stuff. The form that I was left with looks NOTHING like he form they left when they delivered. For a company that states "no hidden charge or surprise cost" i had quite a few surprises when the final contract was handed off to me. There was an extra 660.00 charged on my contract that wasn't there before, nor was I told about it at any time. Since my delivery I have been calling this company on a daily basis, sometimes up to 4 times a day, and keep being told a "manager" will call me by the end of the day. 4 times I had been told that, and I'm still waiting. by the time someone actually calls me back my 10 days to file a claim will be up. I was quoted to have replacement insurance, which they forgot to add on the final bill. I was charged a long carry, stating my driveway was 150 metres...nope, it"s 27 metres.....or 90 feet... Long carry charges apply to driveways that are 100 feet and more... Might I also add I took pictures of them loading the heavy articles on to the back of my truck and drove it out the driveway so they didn't have to carry anything heavy. charging for plastic wrap? I wasn't told this....if they had told me I was going to be charged to wrap everything in plastic I would have used the mattress covers in the closet and told them to use blankets. So that is what I have to say about this company.... I wouldn't recommend it to my husbands ex wife, and that says something people...
