Uniacke Insulators

I had my energy efficiency test done through Clean Nova Scotia a few years ago and was lucky the person who did the assessment was a seasoned veteran in the industry with lots of good suggestions. When I was informed I need to insulate I asked him who I should consider and he suggested Uniacke Insulators. I called them and Mike Zinck came over a few days later.

The assessment suggested adding insulation to the walls would not make a big difference. Mike felt this was worth investigating and drilled a few test holes. I was absolutely amazed by what I saw - or should I see did NOT see? There was hardly any insulation in the walls so Mike was spot on! He made more recommendations regarding insulating the house and I cannot thank him enough. My house now stays warm in the winter and cooler in the summer.

I bought my first home and found it quite cold in the winter. I took advantage of the Clean Nova Scotia program at the time and was informed by the auditor my attic required insulation but the walls seemed fine. I asked him who I should contact. he suggested Uniacke Insulators as he was already familiar with their work. Mike, one of the owners of Uniacke came over and reviewed the house in detail, even drilling test holes into the siding to determine the existing level of insulation. I was told by the auditor the walls were "fine" but Uniacke Insulators found enough space in my walls to blow in 27 bags!
My initial energy rating was 65. Uniacke helped me achieve a 73 which is pretty much the highest you can get for a house my age.

I am now saving substantial money on my heating bills and my house has a higher resale value as a result..
