Yorkway Paving

Our driveway pavement replacement in Ajax was finished in October. Following the first rainfall, a significant water pool emerged. Upon contacting Peter from Yorkway, he and his crew promptly returned, replacing half of the pavement. We appreciate their swift response and resolution. We no longer encounter water pooling issues. Thank you!

The worst decision we ever made was hiring Yorkway Paving & Construction. Robert definitely knows the talk and makes you feel like you are in good hands and that they will guarantee their work, but none of that is true. The quality of install is horrible, they don't respond to any calls to fix the issues and definitely over charge! BEWARE, they should be reported to the Better Business Bureau. Yorkway Paving was referred to us and the biggest mistake we made was trusting the referral, which in the end we found out was a friend of theirs. I hope this review can help others not make the costly mistake we made by hiring Yorkway Paving & Construction.

This company was referred to me by others in my neighborhood. When I called them Rino (647-894-7283) promptly returned my call and arrived at my house to provide me with an estimate for the job. I was impressed by his professionalism and his ability to answer all of my questions regarding the process that I could expect to take place. Peter and the crew removed the old asphalt and laid down the screening. They allowed the screening to settle and then arrived a few weeks later to lay down the new asphalt. I was extremely pleased with their professionalism in the entire process, in particular in their grading of the driveway. The original driveway had sunk between 4 and 5 inches from the garage door entrance. They graded the slope perfectly to ensure a smooth transition from the entrance to the garage to the sidewalk and beyond to the road. I was also extremely pleased in the way that they contoured the sides of the driveway to conform to the slope of the sides of the driveway. I recommended this company to several of my neighbors who passed by to make enquiries. Thank you Rino, Peter and the team for a great job!

Got their name from word of mouth! Those are the most important reviews a company needs. To be so good that their clients recommend them to others. Robby came out to talk to us on a timely fashion. Very Profesional. Knows his stuff as this is a family business for 40+years. Peter and crew came out 2x. Once to get rid of the old driveway. They worked diligently and quick. Put down some screening and saw them a few weeks later to complete the job. This allows everything to settle perfectly. End result was amazing. Everything was explained as to materials used and how it would all get done. No hidden fees, no upfront payments. Honest company. I will and have referred them.

Very unprofessional company, I would not recommend using this company. They have left my driveway incomplete and I have been following up with them for more 3 months on an almost weekly basis. They promise to come but don't turn up and don't even return my calls. I would not recommend using this company. and you can from the pics the sloppy job, not even 3 weeks had passed when plants started popping up in between the asphalt. I have no hope of them rectifying it. Their contract that says that their work is valid for one year, is useless, I might as well tear it up, if they can't come to complete their work I have no hope of them rectifying anything.

The actual paving and work done on the driveway was really good. However they were very careless and sloppy with just about every other aspect of project.

1) Empty & half full coffee cups were left on my veranda

2). About a half dozen black circles and streaks on my lawn. The grass is dying in these spots. This is where they put their pails with diesel fuel so they can clean the asphalt off their shovels and other tools. The pails were put right on the grass and there was spillage. Nothing was used to cover and protect the grass

3) My garage door was left open and my sprinkler, attached to my hose in the garage, is missing. It’s fairly obvious they used my water and therefore my hose during the project

4) The yellow barrier tape was strung along the end of the driveway blocking access from the road and along only side of the driveway blocking access from the lawn. Not a big issue but still another example of cutting corners or not paying attention. If it was necessary to block one side of the driveway with yellow tape, why not the other

4) When they initially showed up to tear up the existing driveway, I was told to move my car off the driveway by 7:30 am. At 7:10 am there was a pounding on my door and when I opened it, one of the workers started yelling at me that my car was not moved yet.

5) About a month and a half wait between the time they tore up the existing asphalt and then came back and paved with the new asphalt

Very unprofessional family run business. Dino came to convince and close the deal then his Sons made the mess. I took them one year to come back and finish the job the did it in rush and careless poor quality, sloping toward neighbour and several pools appeared after first rain, Rob blocked my number to avoid coming back and repair it. I went to their supposed address and is false. Be careful with this contractor dont even think to call them.
