We brought 2 doors to PILN to be repainted. One was an interior door, the other exterior. When we got there on a wet Saturday afternoon, we were the only ones in the store. We confirmed that we did not want the screen or handles painted, and then told it would be a $10 charge to remove. I asked for a screwdriver so I could do it myself- they told me no, they don't lend screwdrivers, because people take them. I pointed out there was no one in the store to distract, but they were inflexible.
The girl wrote up an invoice, and I paid my deposit, as requested. I was shocked when 4 days later the owner called me and said the girl did the quote wrong, and she was going to charge me an extra $100 (50% increase) Considering I waited patiently while the original girl wrote out the quote, I was appalled. If your staff don't know how to quote the work, you have a problem, not me. The owner then went on to say I had the girl all frazzled, asking for a screwdriver... Again, you might have the wrong person working there, if that is all it takes.
5 weeks later we picked up our doors. The paint job was good, but not phenomenal. One of our doors already has a chip in it, from just normal day to day use.
The customer service at this company is terrible, and the quality of workmanship so so. I would not go back.
I really wanted to like this company, because the idea of recycling and refinishing pieces sounded great. But when the service levels make it so frustrating to work with ( and my rates were increased 50% after I dropped my doors off), it's not for me.
