Smithwood Floors

We had custom (non-standard size) herringbone oak floors with a peachy-pink stain from the ‘80s in our living room that we wanted to update to a dark finish. It was a complicated project however, because we also had a sunken living room area that we had raised the floor to the same level of the rest of the room and needed to extend the custom herringbone oak flooring over that area so that it would match. Smithwood floors did an outstanding job! They put new custom oak herringbone flooring over the raised area and matched it seamlessly to the older flooring and applied a beautiful walnut brown stain. We can not even remember where the old sunken area is as it is perfectly matched. The owner of Smithwood (Bill) went above and beyond to help us find the exact stain for our custom design room. He came to our home several times and mixed multiple stain options and applied a wide variety of sample stain until we found the perfect stain for our room. He and his team were very professional, extremely talented, very easy to reach and went over and above to ensure we were happy with the end result (Bill is a second generation hard-wood flooring expert and meets with the clients himself and is very involved with the project). He provided professional and creative advice that was very useful. He was able to book us in within a reasonable amount of time and worked around our vacation schedule in order to do the job for us when we were away. His team was very meticulous with the work they did, paid close attention to detail, were extremely tidy and clean, and got the work done on time. It was a wonderful surprise to come home from our vacation to stunningly beautiful floors! Their rate was very reasonable. We feel so fortunate to have had one of the most reputable companies do our floors and are so happy with the outcome, we get compliments on the floor all the time. We would most definitely hire them again for future renovation flooring projects.

His crew were on time, professional and really did an amazing job of matching new floor seamlessly to the existing hardwood. The refinishing and new stain came out beautiful.
