When I called in, I was given a lot of information about the mold inspection, and what it will cover. Part of the things mentioned was that a thermal imaging device will be used to see if there is any water leakage anywhere. This was one of the deciding factors which I decided to get it done.
During inspection, no thermal imaging device was ever used. Ross did a somewhat thorough inspection, although there were areas that he missed completely, such as the garage.
The control sample for a mold inspection should be taken at least 10-20 feet away from the structure, however Ross took the measurement right on the front porch, which is within 6 feet of the cold cellar vent.
I was also told I would be e-mailed some additional information, which I never got in the end.

Thanks for taking time to post a review Chris! Many people go to the internet for information on mold and there is a lot of misinformation or just too much information which people will take as fact. I have taken a multitude of indoor air quality courses over the years and the general thought is..the control can be taken at the front door if chosen or the hallway if chosen or 10- 20 feet away from the property if chosen, the point is...it's subjective. The thermal imaging detects temperature differentials which we just don't have this time of year and at the end of it we just end up verifying the thermal image with a moisture meter anyways.
