KitchenAid Oven Repair

Our oven would stop once it had reached 300 degrees F, giving error codes and making clicking noises (the door lock mechanism). I found Service4Appliances on the internet serviced my area, so I called to have a service tech come. The service Tech arrived the next day within the appointed window, and polite and friendly fellow named Shai. He confirmed the problem, and after I agreed to pay for a service repair call (which I thought he was there for already), plus parts (if any) he proceeded to fix the problem. He could not tell me before if he would need parts. I found this disconcerting since the cost of the serice repair was already quite pricy and the part potentially needed was the main control board (very pricy). This was important for me to decide if I should agree to the repair attempt or if I shoud buy another range. I took a risk and proceeded. Shai fixed the problem (burnt wires from using the oven self-clean), and advised never to use the self-clean (on any oven) again. That was a Friday. Next day (Saturday) the same problem / error codes and clicking occurred. I was annoyed, and called the company (7/24 service phone # per their website), but all I got was a recorded message that the company was closed for the weekend. I'm not impressed. I left a message to have them return, and am awaiting what Monday brings.

So Monday has come and by 9:45AM no call back from them. I called and asked them to send a tech back to fix the problem he did not fix the 1st time. They said No Warranty on labour and it would cost me another service call (the 1st one was $280 plus tax = $316). Needless to say I am in dispute with them through my Credit Card company. In the meantime I called the service # on my range guidebook and they are coming (at a far less charge for the call). So, DO NOT USE "SERVICE4APPLIANCES".
March 31, 2013 footnote. My Credit Card company advised me that for them to pursue and get my money back they needed the detailed invoice from the repair company which outlined the work to be done (and then of course wasn't successful to fi the problem). Guess what? All I have from Service4Appliances in a receipt saying I paid them $316.40 for "Stove service". Shame on me for being so naive. I'm out $316.40. SO BEWARE OF SERVICE COMPANIES LIKE THIS. GET A DETAILED INVOICE FROM THEM AND MANKE SURE WHAT THEY SAID THEY FIXED ACTUALLY WORKS AFTER 1 DAY.

Approximate cost of services:
$316.40
