Adept Services

Adept Services has done great work for the renovations at our bakery. They demolished several walls, did an opening in an existing one, installed new floor tiles. They were very accommodating with our store hours and employees working at the same time, they protected with plastic film all areas where they were working to limit dust. I would like to add that they are unusually respectful and clean...a breath of fresh air, everyone appreciated their politeness and their kindness. We are very happy with the work they have done for us and will not hesitate to ask them again, actually, we did and it is spotless. Josée

Adept built a new covered deck screen room and it's awesome. Very sturdy, looks good and passed inspections perfectly each time. Steve and Christine paid excellent attention to detail and were very easy to work with.

We highly recommend Adept Services. They have provided us with exceptional service on two separate home renovation projects: the addition of a wall and new door in our basement, and redesigning our master closet.
With both projects we were provided with insightful advice, as our ideas for these spaces were brought to life. Each project was completed on time and within budget. Their attention to detail was impressive and appreciated. We will look to Adept Services again for future home renovations.

Adept Services personnel were instrumental in bringing this project to an ecstatic conclusion. Christine, Steven, and Jose were exceptional. Christine went out of her way to help my wife and I in the selection of materials and colours, spending hours with us. Stephen the project coordinator and at times physically working on site, has such exceptional knowledge
of what needs to be done, when and how. He showed up pretty well every day of the project to insure everything was going to plan. He answered and explain in detail any questions I may have had, honestly. The hardest working every day worker was JOSE. He worked from early morning into the night, at times. Without his hard work and super knowlege of what needed to done the project would have exceeded the expected completion date. It was not an easy job and included new floorin, removal of tub, breaking down partitions and building new walls.

Adept did a renovation of our kitchen this year and our bathroom last year. They were prompt in their responses and their pricing was comparable to other contracting services. The trades professionals were overall very good and there was good attention to detail. The project managers, Stephen and Anna, were often on site, supervising the work and performing quality checks. We were living in the house during the course of the renovations and while sometimes project timelines were understandably delayed, we were happy with Adept's the close communication and adaptation to our schedule. Stephen and Anna answered all of our questions no matter how small and made appropriate recommendations given our budget, style or family utilization of the space. Most notable for us was that if there was any issue, concern or mistake that occurred during the course of the project, Adept made sure to make things right, which built a lot of trust with us. We would definitely consider using Adept for future renovations.

Adept had performed a small project in the past for us and kept in touch over the years. When it came time for us to scope out our project to enclose a second floor balcony in our century-old home, Stephen and his team responded immediately to our call to contractors for estimates. In his initial visit Stephen came by and spent a couple of hours with us to plan out the project educating us and helping us understand how Adept would help us realize our plans for this unique space. After presenting us with a few options, we were able to come up with a plan to proceed. A contract was drawn up which laid out scope of activities and payment schedules. Inevitable changes to scope when working with an older home were fully discussed, approved and documented. The project involved integrating other contractors who were engaged separately and Adept worked to integrate them as much as possible into the overall project.

Throughout the project Stephen was very good about keeping us up to date on the status of the project. His team was courteous, professional, and clean. He absorbed costs that he felt were errors on his end, and made changes to his schedule to accommodate changes on our end (which we had previously opted out of in his original scoping). We are very happy with the way this project has turned out and are looking forward to working with Adept again on future projects to improve our home.

Small, outdated bathroom. Expanded into bedroom to enlarge. Modernized bathroom but kept the charm externally to match rest of house. So happy with the outcome!

We found adept home services on homestars and had a great experience with them. Professional, great communication and kept us updated the entire way through. I gave a 4/5 for satisfied as the painting wasnt done as great as wed like. Overall, I would recommend and use adept again for our next project.

EDIT: when Adept heard we werent 100% satisfied with the paint, they came back and spent the whole day fixing the paint. Really impressed! This changes my original 4 stars to 5.

See photos in response to from company, pics are worth more then words - photos are taken after company left and said Reno was complete. We had to to a lot of work after you say the deficiencies were taken care of including a through cleaning as there was a lot of saw dust everywhere, sand baseboards remove nails and in addition fix chipped paint by your workers. The reason we said it was fine was your team was taking too many extra days to complete and had to get someone that could actually complete the job proper. These are facts and only some of the issues weve had with this company! How many extra days should be allowed for your deficiencies?? Especially at exorbitant cost that you charged?? Terrible Reno experience. Commitments not followed through on throughout the project. Would not give our house keys back to us when asked. Promise the world but unable to deliver and made many changes to the agreement but made it sound like it was all in our favour.
To start off - they came to the job site hours late. Unprepared! no dolly, no tarps. 3 days in and still hadn't completed demo to remove flooring of a very small area. No man power. NEVER met any of they're timeframes. Couldn't determine how long it would take to complete each task. Blamed lack of progress on our building but I talked to her and she had a totally different story.
Not to mention how dirty everything was left on a daily basis. They put our furniture on top of saw dust they created and didn't take any care in protecting our stuff. Numerous times I had to place the tarps back on the furniture that I went out to purchase.

None of workers had safety gear - no safety glasses, nothing to cut the flooring on - used they're leg. Totally unprofessional and super dangerous but no supervisor was on site.
We were told that the baseboards would come finished but this is not true they were filled with caulking - seams were awful, they left nails sticking out of them, they glued together short pieces, left tape and glue on the floor. We now have another issue where one of the thresholds came off.

We spent 15k on this Reno - the most expensive quote we received - very disappointed for costly Reno.

Stephen, Anastassiya, Christine were fabulous in guiding us through options for our project. Great bang for buck. We needed to partially finish the basement with a home office. Adept pricing was competitive.
Stephen advised on options and pointed out how to ensure future enhancements easily meet building code. He documented to overcome ambiguity or faded memories. He made great suggestions as to how to maximize the effort. The project came in on budget. Trades involved were carpentry, plumbing, tiling, painting. They met all contract conditions including minimizing dust, timelines, debris removal.
Ana the project coordinator was terrific in getting the trades in and out to ensure project was on time. Her attention to detail got the trades to carry out the tasks correctly.
Curtis the carpenter was absolutely fantastic in delivering the framing and stairs to the highest quality. Sahid worked hard to correct issues from the painters. We highly recommend Adept Services.
