It was a pleasure working with Kurt. On his initial visit with us, we were instantly impressed. He took the time to listen to our vision for our backyard. He then explained in detail what he would need to do to complete it the way we wanted. He was very patient and willing to offer suggestions when we couldn’t decide on the stones we wanted to use. He showed us a variety of choices and even bought the stones to our house so that we could get an idea of how it would look in our backyard. True to his word, Kurt and his team commenced when he said they would. Their work ethic was excellent and our backyard looks amazing!! We can’t wait for Kurt to complete our front yard next year!

Kurt and his crew replaced my front steps, added a small walkway along with edging along my driveway. Kurt and his crew were professional and courteous. I had contacted Kurt late in the season with hopes that he would be able to replace our front porch which was in very poor condition with crumbling concrete and a rotting wooden decking. I wish I took pictures to show how bad it really was. He had told me that he would do his best to fit me in before winter came and he lived up to his end of the bargain. I am very happy with the end product, it looks beautiful and look forward to having Kurt and his crew back in for a backyard project in the spring!

Kurt was very professional and easy to work with. He had great ideas and made our backyard look fantastic. We met in the spring and they started our project in September. His crew was polite and they worked quickly and were done in a week and half. I would definitely recommend Distinctive Designs for landscaping projects.

We had a 50-60 year-old enormous, falling-down shed taking up a significant amount of space in our backyard. We got a few quotes to remove it and redesign our backyard. Kurt was creative, reliable and very flexible when it came to adjusting his proposal based on our budget. He and his team removed our shed with great care (which was appreciated by our neighbours who asked for a referral!) and transformed a grubby, small backyard into a nicely designed space with new fences, a mini-stoned wall and a nice stoned sitting area. When we raised a couple of small questions, Kurt returned to review the final project and make some small adjustments. We are happy with the result and would definitely hire Kurt and his team again.

We hired Kurt and his crew to completely landscape our front porch, driveway and front yard which included removal of the old porch and gardens. Unfortunately the job was delayed, but this was due to weather. The entire job took approx. 2 weeks which was right on target and the final cost of the project was exactly what was quoted initially which was the most competitive price of the companies we interviewed. Kurt and his team were very attentive to what we wanted and were more than willing to make any changes that we requested along the way and offered suggestions as well. They worked the entire day during the week which was refreshing given what we had heard about other companies. Kurt ensured us that if we had any concerns or issues following completion of the project that we could call him anytime which confirmed his dedication to his work. Overall we couldn't be happier with the finished product and will be hiring Kurt to landscape our backyard next year. We highly recommend Kurt and his team.

My husband and I hired Kurt to lay a flagstone patio in our backyard, to create and plant 2 new gardens, and to lay stone and stepping stones at the side of our home. He and his crew completed the job on time, they were extremely dependable, and were always pleasant to deal with. The end result was beautiful!
