I moved to a new home in Whitby with small kids and wanted to get duct cleaned of all the construction garbage. I saw a deal from ‘Kajiji’ about the duct cleaning at $139.99 from UAS of Cambridge Ontario. I called them to do the duct cleaning and disinfection services. The owner Marwan agreed to do sanitation for extra $25 ($164) and asked me to buy a deal directly from him instead of Kajiji. I agreed, not knowing that he did that to avoid paying commission to Kajiji and also avoid possible warranty service.
He set-up an appointment at 8 AM in the Sunday morning but send his guy Mohammad half an hour late. He finished the job in just 1.5 hrs at 10. I saw him all the vents and grills and asked him to open return grills also to clean but he did not, saying vacuum will suck it from inside. I never got duct cleaned before and trusted him. I bought a life time air-filter also from him for additional amount and I paid him$220 in full.
After he left, my neighbour asked me to open the grill and check, which I did to find it full of garbage. I have pictures to show how bad the job was done. I immediately called him to come back and see by himself but he declined bluntly by saying that he is not supposed to open return duct and that I should have opened those grills for him! He also made a ridiculous accusation that I would have thrown a garbage into duct after he left to get money back!
I complained to UAS owner by email with pictures, but he rudely defended his men and said he will swing by to see if he has a time whenever next time he is in this area. After several reminders Mr. Marwan told that he is not going to re-do the house and I can clean the duct by vacuuming by my-self!
UAS is a company with rude service persons and a dishonest owner. Never going to recommend to anyone...
