Hot water tank rental program

I called reliance as the rental tank I had broke down. They told a technician would contact me with in 3 hours. Which never happened. The next morning at 9am I called again and was told I would get a call within 5 minutes! I got a call about 2 hours later and was told they couldn't come till the afternoon. This is a hot water tank in a rental home I have, so now my tenant and her family had no hot water for 2 days and couldn't shower etc, but the worst part was that my tenant took the morning off work so that she could be there for the tank to be repaired or more then likely replaced! They called me the main contact and said they could be there for 230, which didn't work for us, so I called my tenant and told them and she said she would cancel her appointment and would be there for 3. I called the company back a few times and left messages letting them know this, but they never answered any calls. They called me back that evening and said they could be there at 10 the next morning which ended up being 1020. They walked in the house and said they couldn't work on it cause the water system was in the way and left! As my tenant had a friend there cause she again had to work and I was the main contact, know one notified me to let me know that this was the case u told about 2.5 hours later and that was my tenant letting me know! Apparently reliance doesn't really care about providing great customer service and I feel like I have wasted my money paying for a rental for all these years! My answer to the solution was to call my reliable plumbers to come and take the tank out and buy a tank and have my plumbers put it in, but they saw as a matter that should happen ASAP and worked late to do this! I called reliance and was told it would be $40 to cancel my contract and if I wanted reliance to take the tank out and take it away it would be $125, I said I would have my reliable plumbers remove it and rent could pick it up, but they told me that could be arranged at a cost of $125! They told me my other option is to drop the tank off my self an hour away and save the $125! My experience with this company was horrible and I will be getting rid of all reliance contracts that I have! I had a rental tank for convience sakes and there was nothing convent about this matter! Horrible horrible experience and I feel bad for my tenants going 3 days with out being able to have hot water!

Approximate cost of services:
$40.00
