I had a a toilet clog and overflow on my second floor on Christmas Eve.
We had guests over, and the first I knew about it the bathroom floor was
covered in very dirty toilet water, which then flowed through a vent
into the ceiling of the kitchen below.
After getting a plumber out to fix the clog, cleaning up the mess and
spending Christmas morning at a relatives house, I started looking on
Google to figure out what I needed to do about the kitchen ceiling. I
saw enough things about mold growth and scary possibilities that phoned
Canada's Restoration Services right around dinner time on Christmas day.
Their regional manager and local operations manager were out at my house
that evening, taking a look at the damage and setting up fans to get
things started drying out quickly. They had a crew back the next morning
and by the end of the day had partitioned off the kitchen, cut out all
of the damaged parts of the ceiling drywall and had machines set up to
dry out the affected areas.
Our insurance company had the 25th and 26th off for the stat holidays,
so I was pretty much relying on Gil and Gabriel to guide me through a
process that I had no prior experience with. They were exceptionally
responsive, and both of them checked up with me many times in person and
over the phone to make sure that my needs were being met. Their estimate
came in right where their initial ballpark was, and all their work was
complete and cleaned up in less than 72 hours after my initial call to the 1-800 number (including 48 hours of drying time).
They did a great job on the clean up, our kitchen floor and all the surfaces were gleaming. I was very impressed overall and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others.
