When we called Les came to look at the bathroom, he was very professional and gave us good advice about the job we outlined for him.
The job started right on time with Aldo in charge of the crew. They always showed up on schedule and were friendly, professional and very capable.
Communication with Les, Aldo and the Home Improvement office was excellent—-I really appreciate getting responses to calls and emails promptly—
which made it so much easier and pleasant for us. I would, without any reservations, highly recommend this company to do renovation and painting work.

John came out to install a hood vent for me. It was a tricky situation because we had just changed our cabinets and the existing vent was now off centre and too close to the damper. John was able to come up with a good solution that didn't require us punching a new hole in the cabinet and siding as well as have to fill in the existing hole that would've been empty.

I appreciated the one-stop shopping feature . THIG sent in an expert to repair the shower stall and also the painter.

The service was prompt. Representative came immediately and gave very gud advice and did a great job . Very nice and cooperative group of people.

I had a terrible experience with THIG. I deeply regret believing their deceptive advertising and online presence. They put more effort on marketing and commenting on reviews than they do in the quality of their work.

At the end of 4 stressful months they pressured me with a disclosure agreement saying I could not claim any issues with their work and or post any negative reviews online or they would fine me $1000 per review. That is the opposite of “exceeding customer expectations” which they claim in their marketing and responses to comments. I did not sign the agreement.

It makes me sad to think of how many people must have signed this form scared of the consequences or unwilling to pay the $300 I paid to go see a lawyer for advice. I would therefore argue their online reviews should be considered with caution.

To summarize the issues, poor quality work and unprofessionalism:

• Terrible project management and scheduling of work
• Workers regularly being late or not showing up
• Rework of tiles and interior brickwork required
• Lack of protection on site after promising multiple times to cover in plastic
• Lack of communication throughout the project
• Inflation of plumbing and electrical hours charged
• Violated electrical codes by covering a switch box in the kitchen with tile

I hired Les and his team from The Home Improvement Group to replace my walk-in shower with a whirlpool bathtub and I am thrilled with their work.

Phillip and Manuel did most of the demolition and construction and they did a terrific job. They arrived promptly each and every day and worked tirelessly until the job was done. They carefully taped down protective paper to cover my floors between the front door and the bathroom and protected the vanity and other fixtures in the bathroom with plastic sheeting.

At the end of each day, they were careful to clean up the work area and they also took the time to show me their work and explain what they did and what issues they were running up against. I really appreciated this on-going discussion as it allowed us to quickly resolve the few minor issues we did encounter. John the plumber and John the electrician were also great to work with and did great jobs.

Overall, it was a pleasure to work with Les and his team. They were pleasant, prompt and professional, they do great work and I highly recommend them.

Les and the handymen Scott and Luc did such an amazing job in this relatively small project. The budget was low but they went the extra miles on every aspect of the project. The end result is impeccable. The drywall was put up seamlessly with the existing walls, all new and affected wall were repainted. The doors are well crafted and well painted.

Absolutely no complaint. Would recommend to anyone.

We decided to completely remodel our kitchen. I had used THIG's handyman services before and been very pleased with the results, so decided to request a quote for the job. Of the four quotes, we received, THIG's was by far the lowest, well within our budget while still providing us with the things we wanted (e.g. real wood cabinetry). Prior to deciding on the contract, we met with Les, our designated project manager. We had worked with Les previously, and we vey much appreciated his gruff, but always knowledgeable and professional, demeanor. As he had done on other occasions, he answered all of our questions honestly, provided critical feedback on our plans, affirming the good ideas, dispelling the flights of fancy, adhering as best he could to our vision, while providing an alternative vision where necessary. Once we decided to hire the company, Les had drawings of the kitchen made, we met with the cabinet maker and we met with our lead hand, Kris, to chart out the job. The job unfolded as anticipated, with only a small hiccup at the end. Kris, along with Tibor, demo'd the kitchen and then rebuilt it from the ground up. Kris is a master builder, very skilled in all of the elements of the job. He is meticulous in everything that he does, from the floor to the tiling on the walls. Like Les, he answered all of our questions and made any repairs we requested without complaint. All of the tradespeople who came into our house were skilled and professional and all did very nice work. The kitchen, once finished, was magnificent and we were, and still are, very pleased with all aspects. In all it was a very smooth job, stayed within the quote Les gave us at the beginning and was completed within a couple of weeks of the original estimate. We would recommend the company to anyone looking for a general contractor without reservation, and will hire them in the future ( and have already had a quick consultation on our next project). Thanks Les, Kris, Tibor, Bruno, Fabio, Dani and all the rest of the guys who worked on the kitchen, A great job all around.

I needed to some wiring and electrical work at the office and sent a request for quote to several companies. Of the one that responded, THIG was the one that followed thru.

Their electrician, John, came to the office to discuss the project. From the get go, John was very professional, knowledgeable and trustworthy.

He came to the office at the agreed upon time, did the work in the least amount of time, and cleaned up after him.

I will hire him and THIG in a flash for other work. As a matter of fact, I will be reaching up to them for a quote for a work at home.
