I used C&N for about 20 years and I really try to support local business. However, after much thought, I have moved on. One of their plumbers came to do about 5 relatively small jobs. At any rate, one small job was attempted on a Moen water faucet. I was told that it would be more economical to get a new faucet and also that the cartridge part would cost me $40 plus labour. Fair enough - but I later got this cartridge FREE at the local hardware store. Moen has a warranty. Moving on to replacing a sink - the job was considered but then he decided the job was complicated and could not be done unless I got a new cabinet. Fair enough. There was a minor issue with two toilets and he did call the manufacturer and requested a part that was mailed to me. So all in all, nothing got completed. Two attempts to start two jobs and nothing completed, but lots of looking around. I paid the bill for at least an hour and half - roughly between $225 and $250 for essentially an estimate.
I then called another plumber. A few weeks later, he came, did ALL the jobs with no problem whatsoever - the cartridge was free and I did not need a new cabinet for the new sink - AND he actually completed all five jobs for less than I paid C & N and in less time. I had questioned myself, but the fact that the second plumber was able to do this told me I was not off-base.
