waterproofing

Chico and his crew were stellar! We'd done our research, gotten 3 or 4 other quotes and it seemed each company said vitutally the exact same thing. We went with Chico based on a friend's recommendation and from the outset we could tell that we made the right decision.
His crew was on time every day, friendly and courteous both to us as well as our neighbors (more important!) and everyone took the time to explain to us each part of the process.
The work was done professionally, the cost was managed effectively, the crew cleaned up every day and we know that we made the right decision. I would and will recommend Chico and his crew to all of my friends and family!

Aquashield was recommended to me by a neighbour. I was very satisfied with their work. It was completed competently and tidily. I would use this company again for any similar work.

Front Foundation Wall

A sewage backup in my basement revealed a large hole in the front foundation wall of my house. I called Chico after he was recommended to me by a business associate. He responded promptly and gave me a very thorough assessment of what needed to be done. From start to finish, Chico was a pleasure to deal with. The service was prompt and professional and the work done was quick, thorough and on budget. Most importantly, I felt there was a very high trust factor with Chico and a desire to make sure I was completely satisfied with the service and the work done. I’ve already called Chico to provide an estimate on more work I plan on doing. I highly recommend Aquashield Waterproofing.

re-waterproofing of new addition

I hired Chico to re-waterproof my new addition (the orginal waterproofing having been not done at all correctly by my original contractor).

Chico came by the house to assess the situation, and was very professional and answered all of my questions, took lots of time to explain what needed to be done and how he would do it, and made a few suggestions for improvements as well. He had a copy of his estimate in my inbox later that day.

Chico and his crew did a great job of removing the old waterproofing as best they could, and then re-did everything very thoroughly and professionally. They took away all the garbage, including some stuff which was not part of their scope of work.

The work was done in a timely manner and the result is exactly how waterproofing is supposed to be - done professionally and done right.

Approximate cost of services:
$5,000.00

Make sure you reasearch the various methods for external waterproofing before you hire someone so you know what you're supposed to be getting.

Waterproofing

We have all heard the horror stories. It’s spring. The snow is melting, the rain is heavy and the basement floods. The reasons for a wet, or even damp, basement, can be many. Heavier rainy seasons and milder winters are causing the ground to freeze and thaw several times before spring. This contributes to constant shifts in the ground and wrecks havoc on cracked or weak foundations. As torrential rain downpours become more commonplace, these compromised foundations simply cannot keep the water out. more about wet basements ....

Regardless of the reason for a home’s wet basement, Aquashield Waterproofing will assess each issue and identify the most suitable solution to fix the problem(s). more about Aquashield’s specific waterproofing techniques ...

Foundation Repair

There are many different ways to repair foundations depending on the type of foundation, the source of the problem and the level of damage. In many cases, the foundation wall can be repaired with relatively simple and straight-forward techniques. Depending upon the specifics of the issue and the accessibility of the problem area, repairs can be completed from either the outside or the inside of the residence.

In extreme cases, homeowners may need to consult with a structural engineer to confirm whether a home’s foundation is sound or if the foundation may need to be rebuilt. In other cases, another foundation wall built next to the original will provide the necessary reinforcement.

Each waterproofing and foundation repair company will have its own preferred methods. Typically, however, the solution is simple. Some companies, however, will sell homeowners on extremely expensive methods, technology and materials. At Aquashield Waterproofing we will not complicate things unnecessarily. We will work hard to identify the most effective and cost-efficient solution for your home’s foundation issues. more about foundations & their problems ...
Underpinning

When a basement requires more ceiling height or the foundation needs to be strengthened and stabilized, both can be achieved through underpinning. This process involves carefully digging out small sections of the ground below the existing foundation wall in a 1-2-3 sequence that will add depth and stability. To ensure continued support for the structure, it is not safe to underpin an entire length of a wall in one go. The work must be done in sections. A small section, below and beside the existing foundation is excavated and temporary supports may be installed to support the main weight-bearing walls during this process.

The excavated sections are then filled with concrete to create a new foundation or series of concrete footings beneath the original. This process of underpinning is an effective method to extend the depth and width of support offered by the original foundation. Once the foundation wall is lowered, a new concrete floor can be poured, providing additional height in a basement.
