Canadian Roof Masters

Substandard work, will not respond to me nor BBB - both on the finish of the shingles and the mess their clean up crew left of oil. Not to mention water bottles left in gutters and the crew having a dog on site leaving messes in our lawn while we were working.

I had my roof replaced by Canadian Roofmasters - a lower and upper flat roof as well as a pitched roof. The upper flat and pitched roof were okay; however, the lower flat roof leaked badly. Since the warranty was for 20 years, I called the company back but they could find nothing wrong, and blamed it on the neighbor’s roof (who were not experiencing any problems)!! A year later, my ceiling had collapsed and the floor underneath was damaged by water. I had to call in another company (Luc’s Roofing – more expensive but highly recommended) who performed a free inspection and found the source of the water ingress. With this information, I called Canadian Roofmasters back and showed them the hole, which they proceeded to caulk. This took 10 minutes. I was then informed by Canadian Roofmasters that the leak was my fault because I had not paid them enough in the first place (I paid exactly what they quoted). They then charged me $150 for the repair. I refused to pay, citing that the roof was under warranty, to which they told me that they “could not keep coming back every day”, even though this was twice in 2 years. They tried to charge me again and told me to get the money from the neighbor’s. Obviously I refused and suggested that they approach the neighbors (who had nothing to do with the problem). I was then informed that they would not come back again. Under the circumstances, I will never use Canadian Roofmasters again, but I would recommend Luc’s Roofing. They are more expensive but you get what you pay for (though I didn’t with Canadian Roofmasters - the quality of the workmanship was terrible!). One other point – make sure that everything that is said when the quote is made gets written down. You may need it some day…

Needed the dryer vent reattached after some animal damaged it. After he checked it he said he could repair it for $300.00. He assured me it was done when I paid him. Eventually I was able to gain access to the attic and found that he hadn't even attempted that. He possibly just hammered around the roof I cant tell for sure. I called to question him and suddenly he doesn't understand the issue. He had assured me several times that he had fixed the vent when I paid him but suddenly he doesn't understand what is meant by "dryer vent"

I was in dire need of a new roof and interviewed many companies. Finally, I choose Canadian Roof Masters who were not the least expensive but somewhere in the middle. They were punctual, polite, and efficient in completing the work on time. Later I had the city do some drainage work as part of the downspout disconnect program. Last winter which was almost two years after my roofing was completed, I had a couple of wet spots on the ceiling - I live in a 1 1/2 story home. I called Canadian Roof Masters and they immediately came over concerned as they stated they have never had a problem like this in 30 years of business. They immediately took care of the problem which happened to be a result of the city's work. I was not charged and the problem was fixed! Excellent customer service.
