After Sales Customer Service with Minto New Homes in Arcadia Kanata has been a nightmare. Minto representatives don't care about making things right for homeowners. They've come in our house numerous times to perform repairs listed on our 30 day Tarion Warranty form to only cause more damage and make things worse.
Now Minto is not willing to take ownership of their mistakes and make things right for us because the damage they've caused to our additional investments (upgrades) is not covered by the Tarion Warranty as this only covers construction related deficiencies, thus the good appearance of upgrades is not covered by the Warranty, so Minto feels entitled to damage this by bringing un-experienced trades to perform repairs.
We're extremely disappointed to say the least with our experience with Minto. Seven months of fighting to have our voice heard by very disrespectful representatives, specially to female homeowners, has caused severe damage to the well being of our family.
We thought we were building our dream home by investing all the equity from the sale of our previous home into upgrades in this house, but Minto has shattered our dreams of owning a beautiful home. We'll always regret our decision of wasting $600k on a Minto home. Once Minto gets your money they don't care about you, your family or the hose you built with them for that matter.
Please do not make the same mistake as us.

- Listen to customer's concerns. Bring experienced trades to perform repairs, specially on expensive upgrades. Do not mock customers when these are expressing their concerns. Do not penalize customers when they attempt to reach for Tarion or find other means to have their voices heard.
- Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
- Do not choose Minto as their builder. Take builder to court, as Tarion is useless for the homeowner as in on the builder's side.
