Two experiences - one great, the next not so great
We had this company replace a 10 ft wide window in our living room in 2019, including enlarging the opening. We were overall very pleased with the work and the quality of the window. We felt it was a reasonable price; the wait between ordering it and its installation was short, and we love the change it gave to our room. 5 stars
When we needed another huge window (14 ft wide) replaced in our sunroom, Cana told us that they no longer carried the Laflamme brand of our earlier purchase. We wanted to have he same narrow frames as the first window so we got estimates from 2 other places. We decided on having Cana do this new window, again the price was reasonable, the time between ordering and delivery was relatively short, and the installation was fine.
The only hitch this time was that the 9 ft wide fixed pane was really dirty on both surfaces as if it had been exposed to something greasy and then dust. We couldn't get this grime off with windex - it only smeared it. We ended up having to wash it a number of times with different products to cut the grime on the inside before we got it clean. On the outside it was easier because we could use a car wash hose attachment and then a jet of water from the hose to rinse it.
Cana offered no excuse or apology, suggested we make a warranty claim. WE are pleased with the window but quite unhappy with the amount of work we needed to do to get it clean. So 5 stars for the window, 3 for the service.
