Our son met Garnet at a fair in Russell and was very impressed with his work and prices. We were renovating our bathroom and needed a custom piece. Garnett listened, designed a beautiful piece that was far less than store price and exactly what was needed. I contracted with him for a dining table as a Christmas surprise, another beauty. Wish I knew the fellow 20 years ago!!

We knew Garnet Carmichael (Carmichael's Horse and Carriage Furniture of Lunenburg, Ontario)did custom antique style furniture and when we were in the market for a sleigh bed we looked him up and were pleased with what he told and showed us he would do. He listened very carefully to what we wanted and we have been happy with the result - so happy that we have since had him custom design and produce a dining set, a buffet, a dresser, a tv cabinet and an armoire - all tailored to our specific needs. The service included delivery and setup on site, which we very much appreciated. Quality and very reasonable price for furniture we are very proud to own.

My husband and I met Garnet Carmichael in Brockville at an indoor marketplace. We immediately fell in love with his work and attention to detail. Every piece is solid and we are proud to have his work in our home. It will last for many generations.

Fine craftmen are very hard to find and Carmichael is one of the finest. His work is impeccable, clean, solid and always finished on time.

We enlisted Carmichael Horse and Carriage to design and construct a television unit for our home. Garnet came to our home to listen to our very specific needs, and was very attentive. When the unit was delivered our expectations were definitely exceeded. The quality of workmanship, finish and materials are second to none. This piece is the focal point of our family room, all of our visitors comment on the beauty of the television unit. I would definitely recommend Garnet (and I have) to anyone.

In the last two years, Garnet completed the above two projects for us. We are very pleased with his work; both pieces are very beautiful and everyone that visits our home comments on their beauty and unique design. I am so happy that I found this furniture contracter. His work is precise and the detail on my island is exactly as I explained it to him plus he was able to give me lots of very helpful information and little tips on different styles etc. He stained it the same colour as my cabinets and I went with a wooden counter top and he stained it a lighter colour and it has turned out even better then what I envisioned. I also was so thrilled at how quickly he was able to fill my order. I love my newest addition to my kitchen.

Garnet knew exactly what I wanted by merely a description of words. The furniture he built exceeded my expectations. I have received countless compliments and it is my favorite piece of furniture. I have requested other pieces and will only have him build my custom furniture. He's the best furniture maker I have ever encountered and a great person to do business with!

Very reasonably priced. Garnet took the time to make sure the pieces of furniture were exactly what I wanted. Also I loved the variety of colours and stains to choose from. I would definately go back to purchase more things. Extremely enjoyable experience.

As a HomeStars team member I am usually pretty hesitant to post reviews, but for Garnet I must make an exception. Garnet Carmichael recently agreed to make a custom reproduction hutch to fit our old country kitchen. We had looked at prefab cupboards and another custom builder, but felt that both were too modern for the complicated 130-year old room we were trying to complete. Fortunately, we ran into Garnet and his wife Maureen at the Spencerville Fall Fair.

Knowing that we were about to have an open house, Garnet made the hutch in less than three weeks and delivered it the day before, so that it would be here and ready for the party. Garnet was so great to work with in the design planning, asking what our plans were and drafting proposals. He even used the same accent paint we had used on other areas of the kitchen. The hutch looks so authentic and has already begun to transform our kitchen - of which all future plans have been charged to Garnet!

We would definitely recommend Garnet to anyone looking for custom pieces.
