Needed my dishwaser fixed so called Calgary appliance service center. Booking appointment online was a nice touch and the tech was nice and punctual, thus the 4 stars. He came and looked at the dishwasher which was leaking from the bottom, then got on his laptop and quoted me about what a new dishwasher was worth. of course I said I would rather just replace it. He then charged me $100 right on the spot. I got the sneaking suspicion that this might be an easy way to make $100 per visit for doing next to nothing. but hey just my opinion.

We charge a diagnostic fee of $95 plus tax which we are very clear and upfront about. It is always the customer's choice whether or not they want to proceed with a repair once that diagnosis is complete. I'm sorry that your appliance problem required a major repair which you chose not to proceed with. I can assure you that if all we did was send technicians to homes and not complete repairs it would not be profitable.
