Based on Aquamaster's advertising, Aquamaster seemed excellent. But their administration left much to be desired. Fedir never made a written agreement between any of my family members and his company. To this day, the "CUSTOMER SIGNATURE," "TECHNICIAN SIGNATURE," and "DATE OF ACCEPTANCE" lines on the "INVOICE" he left us are blank. On April 19, 2017, his company withdrew $1000 from my account as advance deposit, without informing me about it, and without ever issuing me a receipt for this deposit. It was not until a few days later that I learnt of this withdrawal. This DEPOSIT amount was more than the required $896.09 deposit amount he wrote on the "INVOICE." He never put in writing that he would be taking a deposit of $1000 instead, and this is contrary to a "PAYMENT TERM" of his company, written on the back of the "INVOICE," which states: "This proposal and said specifications shall not be altered or modified except by written agreement between the parties hereto and any verbal understandings or agreements with representatives shall not be binding unless set forth herein." We never signed to authorize the withdrawal of any deposit, either the $896.09 deposit he requested in writing on the "Invoice," or the $1000 deposit he withdrew, which he never wrote anywhere. He never gave me a receipt for this $1000 withdrawal, not even after I requested it. When he sent me a copy of his trade licence, he sent me a photo of it with the last digit of the expiry year cut off, so all I could read was 201... and just by looking at the copy he sent me, I could not tell if his licence was still valid or not. I emailed him a request to send me a better copy of the licence, with the expiry date in full view, but he never responded to this request, just as he never sent me a receipt for the $1000 withdrawal. It turned out his licence was valid, as I called the City to check, but still, he could have shown more care towards his customer by fulfilling my requests. I became concerned with the "Terms and Conditions" on the back of the "Invoice" he left us. They seemed to exempt Aquamaster from a broad range of damages that could occur during this type of external waterproofing work. Their "Terms and Conditions" seemed to be more in their favor than in ours, for they stated that the customer might not be covered for certain types of property damage that may occur during this work. On Saturday 22, 2017, I sent Fedir a cancellation letter asking him not to work on our home, before the project ever started, and I requested the $1000 to be refunded back into my account. He refused to give this money back. In his e-mail he informed me that either I must stick with his company so as not to lose the $1000 or lose it in full. And he still didn't issue me any receipt for this money his company took from me! He refused to issue me either a full or a partial refund! He never warned me that any deposit made would be 100% non-refundable. We still need this waterproofing work to be done, but I decided to try to find a company who will treat us better. To date I still don't have a receipt for the $1000 Aquamaster took from me, without performing any work on our property, and of course, I have no refund.
