Railing installation

Everyone please watch out for this installer who claims that he is in busines for 15 years (according to his add on kijiji). This is completely false! This man by the name of Ahmad Zaihomayoun, aka. Homayoun/Roberto, which ever way he calls himself, works for some company during the day and does railing on the side after work. I dont know which company hired a man like this one - but definetly NOT a railing company- because if they actually saw the work he does, they would fire him on the spot.
We first got his number off kijiji, and when he came over to our house he showed us many beautiful photographs of railings, which he claimed he did with his partner. We belived him and hired him to do ours, at our newly built house. He gave us an original estimate of $2200. We gave him $600 cash upfront for the pickets, which he was supposed to get. He got the pickets, and he began installing the railing. There was a previous railing installed from the builders, which we took off, as we were upgrading it to dark stained wood with wroght iron pickets. So, H.A. took the old ones out, and began drilling new holes for the pickets. We asked him why he is doing so, because there were already holes from the previous ones, and he said that the holes that he made in the hand-railing for the new pickets, do not match the holes on the floor. Ok, whatever, we told him, "do as you know" because we knew he was going to fill the holes later and stain them. So he made a bunch of holes on the nozzing downstairs and on a few steps. He didnt bother drilling anything up the staircase for now (thank god he didnt!!) Then he began installing, and we saw that he was taking a long time moving things back and forth, trying things out, then I even caught him once looking at the picket and the hole and he had this VERY CONFUSED look on his face that just read "I dont know what I am doing". So he kept leaving our house and coming back for the next 3 weeks or more, and unable to do anything. He was always making up new excuses why the railing was not being installed:
1. I have another job I need to finish. 2. I did not get the pickets stained. 3. the pickets are still drying from paint. 4. I dont have my partner to help me. ETC. But the truth was, that he didn't know WHAT he was doing. He is absolutely clueless. Then, he came one time and installed the pickets on the ground floor. So we looked at them, and we saw that between the pickets there were uneven spacing. Between one set there were 3 inches, between others 2 1/2'' and so forth. He placed the hand rail on top and it was croocked. Then he argued that its supposed to be this way. All the time he kept arguing back at us when we told him that he is doing something wrong. He never listened and just tried proving his point. Then we saw that on several pickets the paint had "leaked", and we knew right away that HE SPRAYED THEM with a can, and not did them at a proper shop. So we went into our garage, where his tools were and found the actually SPRAY CAN with black paint which he used to paint OUR pickets!!!! We were so angry at him, and when we confronted him, he told us that it wasnt from our pickets, but you could see the bad paint job on all the pickets!! I dont know why by then we still didnt fire him. So we kept thinking he will finish the job and it will look great. We didnt care anymore that he sprayed the pickets himself, as long as he would have finish already. But, he wasnt coming for many days, and then a friend of ours who is a floor installer came over and LAUGHED at our railing. He actually thought we did it ourselves. When we told him we hired someone, he told us to immediately get rid of the guy because he did not know what he is doing. So we called another company J & D Railing, and their guy came over and saw the job and started laughing too. He took a picture because he said he needed to show his partner what kind of people are out there claiming that they know how to install railings. Thankfully this guy knew what he was doing and he reinstalled everthing for us. I wrote a separate review on this company.
Everyone please watch out for this man Homayoun, and do not belive his stories. At the end, we barely got out money back from him, but we did not comeout even, as he ruined our nozzing, stairs, pickets, posts, hand-railing, even floor! Yes, he dropped a post twice and scratched our floor!!! After him we could not reuse anything - he ruined and damaged everything he came into contact with. We had to get a brand new nozzing, hand rail and pickets. We returned all his pickets to him, and got ones for even cheaper than he told us they would cost!! We also got new posts as he drilled a bunch of holes in our old posts and they were no good anymore.
Please do not let his prices fool you if he gives you a good estimate because they are too good to be true!!!! You will definetly get what you paid for! Pay peanuts and you will get monkies. That's what they say, and its true. So please, do not let this guy in your home. If you are reading this than probably you already have, and I am VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. I dont have a pic of the railing Ahmad did because it was so pathetic , we didnt bother taking a pic, but the guy who re-did it took a pic, and hopefully he can provide it if needed.

Approximate cost of services:
