Gold Standard Roofing

i had roof done few years back. my roof is leaking. i still have 3 years left on the warranty. i thought it came from the wall or from the window. i panicked and call restoration contractor. he came by and said this has been leaking for awhile. he asked me am i going through insurance and also said insurance don't cover roof damage. then i recall, i had my roof done few years ago and my back of the kitchen leaked too. because it leaked in the kitchen, i saw the water coming down onto the countertop. so i called" cedarex known as gold standard" to come and fix the problem. len came by and put some sealer. it kinda worked. however, this time, it's a whole new story. i called len, he's the owner, and took a good look at it. he said, " sorry this happened. it's kinda my fault a bit". he said he will redo the front of the house himself and redesign it. normally, he will charge over $5000.00 but this happened to you so i will charge $3500.00. and he would need some deposit. so i gave him $500.00. i was in a panic so i wasn't thinking properly. i asked him about the interior damage. drywall, carpets, load bearing beams for basement where the water was pooling, behind vapour barrier, moulds, etc.....and len said to me, that he cannot help me with that.
i was stunned by what he said. the next morning i had a clear what just happened to me. i just got shafted. so i called the homebuilders' association of b.c. and they told me call roofing contractor's association of b.c. that was the best phone call i ever made. when i called them, they told me that gold standard roofing isn't a member of roofing contractor's association of b.c. but however they told me to go into their website and look for inspectors. they could help me out. so i did. i got a independant inspector (laboratories certification testing inspection) engineering firm which they inspect everything to structure, integrity, they do envelopes,,,,
inspector came to my home and did the inspection on the roof. inspector wrote on the report saying the rubber epdm membrane wasn't installed properly. it must be installed continuously. i have this important document if decided to go to court. but lot of people are saying try to settle the problem before going to court. now im getting a different roofer which they are a member from roofing contractor's association of b.c. i left many messages to len but never return any of my messages.
cedarex known as gold standard is a unreliable roofing company that can't stand behind their work. who wants to do a roofing job that costs $27.000.00 with no warranty? len will take your money and give a good presentation on warranty policy but he doesn't care about your home. please spread the words. i don't want any others going through this.

Len, owner of the company was overseeing the entire project. He dropped by a couple of times to provide estimates and answer my questions.
Once we agreed on the project, his team showed up as scheduled. They were very professional and friendly.They called by 8AM when they could not come in case of chance of rain.
They finished the work on schedule and cleaned up everything thoroughly. Len came by to inspect and followed up by a personal appointment to review the work with me.
Roof looks great and I would recommend this company to others.
