I had been looking for a front door insert that would stand out in the neighbourhood for quite some time. But I shied away many times from door sales people who only seem to be interested in pushing for high priced doors. When I came across Andrew’s work at a design blog I regularly follow, I knew Lusso Glass has the design and quality of workmanship I’m looking for. At the initial consultation, Andrew explained various options for inserts and doors, and the extra touches he puts in to finish a door and the hardware even if he is only installing an insert. Never once did he try to steer me towards high priced options. In fact, Andrew recommended the most economic option. Maybe because I didn’t feel pressured and Andrew’s prices on custom designed doors are very good compared to mass market doors, I eventually decided to upgrade to a fiberglass replacement door, due to limited colour choices in steel doors. I’m glad I did. The wood grain and stain of the fiberglass door nicely complement the ironwork. Although I wanted a door that is different from the neighbours’, I didn’t have any design in mind or knew anything about wrought iron work. From Andrew’s extensive collection of design sketches and previous installations, Andrew helped piece together a unique insert design from a couple inspirational designs. He patiently worked with me through a number of revisions to create the perfect balance and scale across the door insert and the sidelights. Post installation, Andrew was responsive and proactive in making adjustments and fixing issues I didn’t notice. Andrew also went out of his way to get me a patio door from a supplier he never worked with.
