Benoit Carpentry

We chose Andre Benoit and hired him for numerous repairs in our home on the reccommendation of a neighbour on our street. Unfortunately we realised too late that her standards and ours are vastly different. Andre NEVER ONCE showed up when he arranged to (except to get paid) and would take great offence if you complained. He never finished repairing our outdoor front stairs that he insisted need repair (and are now a danger to walk up), and our driveway is incomplete as well. Unfortunately, we paid him in advance and it will cost us another $2000 to get someone else to fix his unfinished disaster. When he repaired our bathroom shower, he forgot to seal the drain, which in turn created a leak in the library ceiling. It was weeks before I could get him back to fix this....and then he did so very begrudgingly. Most of the other repairs have not been completed properly, such as window frames installed outdoor but not painted. All the work that was supposed to take three months at most is still unfinshed after a year and a half, and I know that although he promises to come back, Pinocchio can not tell a truth and we have seen the last of him.

Andre was contracted by EURO-TECH windows to install windows I purchased from them. When they came to review the job and final measurements taken Andre put on a good show and talked a good talk. Knowing that EURO-TECH entrusted Andre to install the windows I had him quote me on 2 basement cracks. Prices seemed fair so the work was done. What a mistake. He has high school kids working for him doing heavy labour. Property was damaged. He used my tools in the basement. He used a dry saw in the basement which created a cloud of dust that could be cut with a knife (what a mess). Used oldschool methods to fix the cracks. After this experience, numerous calls were made to Euro-Tech informing them of my experiences and displeasure of workmanship. My calls fell on deaf years and they continued thier relationship with him. After 3 days of window installation I refused to let Andre in the house. Told Euro-Tech the project would not continue untill such time he is removed from the project. Upon inspection Norm from Euro-tech agreed and removed Andre from the project. The installed windows were removed and reinstalled 2 weeks after the original install. This project was document with videos and pictures. Euro-Tech windows is another story to which I will speak off on a future post.

We agreed on a set price and design, money was taken (almost the complete amount) and the job was never completed. In fact he added further damage to the property. He ignored phone calls and request to complete the work. He gave false information on all occasions when confronted to complete the work and left us in a very dangerous situations. Do not hire these people!! They are unethical and completely careless. His name is Andre Benoit and he changes the name of his company often. He has a legal judgment against him to pay the money back plus damages and ignores this as well. Definitely not recommended.
