Goodman A/C install

Folks,
please get EVERYTHING in writing with this company, particularly regarding what is and isn't covered in warranty. If you get your unit installed in spring time, TEST IT as soon as possible within the years warranty the next year, as this company has had a history of faulty installations leading to leaked/depleted freon, and once the year's past, you are completely out of luck. Chances are, you won't find out until you turn on your unit in the summer that a faulty install has led to the freon depletion.
Take explanations for unit failure from their technicians with a grain of salt - the technician who deemed our unit defective said he thought a lightning strike was the cause. (not accepting the obvious, which was the freon leak and subsequent compressor failure on start up) Interesting theory given the unit's location between houses and the fact its 2.5 feet tall!

Beware as well that the salesperson will likely NOT tell you about factory warranties and extended warranties, as to create additional revenue opportunities like the above once their own 1 year warranty expires.

They are also just as likely to play 'he said, she said' about the manufacturer's own claims, will cite possible 'service bulletins' and will hang you out to dry in terms of assistance with warranty follow up and assistance.

Overall, simply one of the worst big-ticket item vendors I've had the misfortune to deal with. And sad too, because a simple acknowledgement and apology for the situation would have sufficed,as well as some follow up calls during the entire process (i initiated all follow ups) but they've left me with such a sour taste I will do what I can to warn others in hopes of their avoiding my negative experience with them.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Communication and honesty and transparency about their services; willingness to admit issues with installation and reigning in technician's implausible explanations for obvious install and unit failure; upfront explanation of technical repair and get it in writing too.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Get everything in writing. Ask every angle of questioning pertaining to warranty and what is included. Present them with scenarios and ask/ write down their responses to what is covered. Consider alternate vendors or at least know you've been warned if things go south 1 year in with your unit.

Furnace, Air Conditioner and Air Cleaner

Our Family was in a bind and we were red tagged by the gas company left without heat. Convertible had a salesman come over right away and gave us a very fair price. They even had an emergency install team on their staff install the next day. We didn't even suffer the cold through the night because the salesman gave us 4 space heaters to use complimentary untill the job was done. Dave the installer was a pleasure to have in my home and definetly a professional. Nothing but good things with this company.. I highly recomment them.

Furnace & A/C Replacement

I was referred to Convertible Air by my neighbour who couldn't say enough about the company.
When I called for a quote, I was given lots of information about products and rebates available from the Government. I felt really good about the honest advice and fair pricing. I went with Convertible for the job and received an immaculate installation as promised. The installers were friendly, professional and got the job done in a day.
Now I can't say enough about Convertible Air!

Install High Efficiency Furnace plus A/C

1. Installation was performed by a sub-contractor not by Convertible Air. Sub was great but I didn't hire a sub, I hired Convertible Air.

2. A/C unit was AirEase, yes AirEase is owned by Lennox but if Lennox didn't feel that they should put their logo on it why should Converible Air cut and paste the Lennox logo into AirEase brochure they have on their website? The tape lines are so obvious. This just smacks of dishonesty. (I didn't notice this until after my purchase).

3. They never followed up to see if I was a satisfied customer.

4. Took repeated calls and 6 months to get the A/C cover.

I am not saying that they ripped me off, but when you pay top dollar you expect top service.

Central Air

They called it a lennox but it was not. it was a Ducane. When I called lennox to see if it was a Lennox Paul told me no that it was a Lennox industrey Product. And that it was made in a differnt plant then Lennox is made. Paul also said why would Lennox advetise Lennox and then call it Ducane. I should Know better the price was too good to be true. Just think before you buy from this company. They will say anything to get your money

Company Response

Branding and private labelling is very confusing to consumers, and we, as a full line dealer try very hard to explain to people the many labels manufacturers sell under. Not only do we tell people that Lennox make under the labels of Ducane, Armstrong & Aire Ease....ALL of which are displayed on the Lennox International website. We also help people navigate the Lennox web site to help them see for themselves. I think your statement is very unfair considering you didn’t mention once that the installation was poor and/or our customer service was unprofessional in any way. You only focused on the name issue. Pay attention to advertising by other reputable companies, you will see they call it the Ducane by Lennox OR Aire Ease by Lennox. So, we are not that different. Please don’t try to ruin our 40 year history of 1st class installations and wide selection of products with your negative spin on the situation. Also, the reason you got a low price is because we are not greedy and don’t rob you of your hard earned money, not because the product is inferior. Our 40 year history in this business is based largely on referrals from happy customers. I am truly sorry you are not one of them. Just know you got an excellent installation, performed by licensed technicians whom we employ and back with our HRAI & TSSA membership. We certainly DO NOT "say anything to get your money" sir customers tell us daily how honest and helpful we are compared to the rest....we fulfilled our commitment to you 100% from start to finish.

Furnace & Air Conditioner Installation

Before my husband & I purchased a furnace & a/c, we shopped around. When we contacted Convertible Air we were thrilled with the service. We gained knowledgable insight about our options which helped us make an informed decision. The staff were friendly and they had competitive pricing. We went with Convertible and had an install within days!

Installation of a furnace and air conditioning

The company said we were not set up to get a high efficiency furnace. They were wrong. The mid-size furnace they ultimately installed is too small for the house (we were getting more warm air from a 27 year old furnace before it stopped working). The a/c they installed is also too small. The post sale service is awful. Don't waste your money on this company!
