Did not feel like I got my moneys worth
I hired Acker home inspection for my new build 1 year review. This was my first experience with home inspection. In the end the inspection did not reveal any deficiencies that were new to me. Phil has a good understanding of the Tarion warranty and it seems that he focuses the inspection purely on what is warrantable, and does not pay attention to things that should be addressed yet are not defined as deficient in the Tarion warranty.
His attitude throughout the inspection gives me the impression that the inspection is geared more towards people who are ignorant about how their house works and code requirements. Maybe this is indicative of his typical clientele and maybe this is why I feel I did not get good value for money.

It would be helpful for you to contact me directly, so that I can better understand your expectations and concerns. I'm somewhat confused by your expectations. For example, the purpose of my inspection was to identify items that should be reported under a Tarion Warranty claim. As such, deficiencies I identify are those issues that are either in conflict with requirements the Ontario Building Code, and/or are described as a warrantable condition in the Tarion Construction Performance Guidelines. Without talking to you, I don't have enough information to understand how I could add more value to future clients. I also don't fully understand what I did that created dissatisfaction in your experience with my company.
