We hired Daimon last fall to put in a patio and do some landscaping in the backyard. In the end, the job was delayed a few weeks and Daimon was unable to do the planting we discussed. There was also a small defect in the patio. We planned for him to return in spring, and in March this year, met with him to plan our front steps/garden. He gave us a date of mid May. He delayed our front yard several times, after about a 6 week delay, he said he would show up the next day, and then we didn't hear from him for 10 days (only after we phoned and emailed a few times). Finally, he responded and said he would be unable to perform the job due to personal reasons. Perhaps he really did have a good reason, but given that we were next on his list, I would think we would be the first job he would do when he returned to work. He gave us no such option, so either he is honestly not planning to work for the rest of the season, or he was not being honest with us. Now the garden he built is overgrown with weeds, and thankfully the defect on the patio is quite minor.
We were very happy with his the quality of his work last year, but very disappointed with his disorganization, lack of communication, and complete lack of reliability this year. Even before he claimed personal reasons, his delays and lack of organization was a problem. If you can get him to show up, I think he would do good work. However, I would expect delays and would not give him a deposit. Last year I would have given him a definite recommendation but given how were were treated as repeat customers, I think this company no longer deserves anything close to a 10.

Daimon did a great job on the design and installation of our front entranceway interlock. From the beginning, Daimon was very professional and provided a lot of great ideas and suggestions as to how to proceed. We consulted him several times on the choice of stones and design, and he was always quick to respond with clear options. The quote was very reasonable for what we were getting, and Daimon was even able to move up the planned installation date. Work was carried out in a conscientious and considerate manner, and we are very happy with the final result. The pattern and design Daimon suggested is very attractive, and we have received a lot of compliments from friends and neighbours. At every step of the way, including follow up, Daimon was quick to meet or surpass our needs and expectations. We have used other companies for this sort of work in the past, but we definitely call on Daimon again for any future work we want done. Highly recommended!

We met Daimon in late March of this year to get a quote on the removal/replacemnt of old flagstone with new interlock. There was a significant slopping and regrading issue that we really needed to address. Daimon emailed us with a detailed quote the next day and stayed in touch with us until the job started.
He was able to start the job on time and he and his team arrived promptly at the agreed time..He and his team were
courtesy, professional, clean, and accomodating when we requested changes. They worked hard all day and completed the job on time. Our home looks great and we're very staitisfied with the results. I feel confident recomending Ashlar Landscaping to famliy and friends.

We moved into a house last summer with a very large backyard but felt that the backyard needed a complete makeover as it wasn’t maintained properly. We decided to look to Home Stars for some companies.

Of the companies that came to provide a quote, Daimon was the most responsive, calling and/or emailing quickly to respond to my questions. I wasn’t able to meet him on his first visit but let him survey the backyard himself, gave him some rough guidelines of what we wanted but also let him add his ideas and he provided a great competitive quote.

In the end, we chose Ashlar Landscapes as we felt most comfortable with Daimon and his ideas, professionalism and attentiveness (and of course the reviews he had already received). When it came closer to the date of work, he came out on a Saturday morning to meet my wife and I, and we tweaked some of the plans based on his vision and ideas. He also came prepared with the little things like I can of spray paint to mark out some ideas which greatly helped with the visual aspect. He provided an updated quote the next day and he walked me through everything on the phone.

Due to some flexibility in both of our schedules, he was able to start immediately. His team showed up early each morning and he made sure to speak with myself or wife at the end of every day to give a quick update. Everything was left very tidy at the end of each work day and on days where they knew it might be a lot noisier (i.e. when they had to cut some bricks), they gave us a head’s up and we ensured we stayed away.

Unfortunately due to a rainy April, the work had to be put on hold a couple times as they required dry weather for certain aspects of the project, during this time Daimon continued to update me on the status and when it was expected that they would be able to come back out and finish the job. As soon as the weather cleared, they were there at 7 am back to work to finish up. The finished product is a whole new backyard that will definitely be a great place for bbq’s and parties.

We found Ashlar Landscapes on Homestars after reading his great reviews. We did contact several companies, but after meeting with Daimon we knew he would be the best for the job.

His attention to detail as well as the time and care he took to make sure that he understood what we wanted was above and beyond the other two companies we had out to the house. He sent us over an estimate soon after he left, and we booked him right away! We still had to wait about a month to have him do our job as he was booked solid, but it was definitely worth the wait.

Daimon kept us updated in the weeks leading up to the job to let us know he was on schedule to arrive on the agreed upon date, and so he did. Daimon and his crew showed up early, worked hard all day and left at about 6pm each night - after cleaning up the job site. He also took the time to stop and talk to either myself or my wife each day and give us updates on the progress of the job.

It took him about a week to complete it - and what a transformation! Our neighbours keep stopping by to ask about the work, and we have given his name to several people who now want to book him as well.

Take my advice, book Ashlar now - you will not be disappointed!
The effort Daimon puts in to ensure your satisfaction is beyond that of any other contractor we have ever used. He really cares about the end result and above all just wants his customers to be happy.

Daimon was professional right from the start by returning my calls in a timely manner, coming over in person to determine a design and providing an estimate quickly.

Daimon and his crew completed the job in one week, which was exactly what he estimated. They were here early each day and worked hard throughout the day, in the gruelling heat. We actually contemplated trying to do this project on our own, but after seeing the amount of work and expertise required to make it perfect, we were so glad we hired Daimon!

Our whole family is very pleased with our new patio. We plan to have Daimon return next year to do some work on our front walkway.

Daimon was so great to work with. He was able to start the job a week earlier than planned and finished it sooner than expected. He was very flexible in choosing stones from another dealer as I requested a style that his usual dealer didn't offer. Also he was willing to listen to my design ideas and adjust the plans accordingly.
I would definately recommend him and will use his services again in the future!
