We are very happy with the service provided by Finished Basements. It was a pleasure working with the different members of the company. Andrew provided a well thought-out, detailed estimate. Andrew's attention to detail on his initial visit to our house instilled confidence in us and was one of the reasons we chose Finished Basements. Igor was warm, knowledgeable and provided a great layout for the basement. The company was upfront and transparent about the costs throughout the project. Natalie was very helpful with the aesthetic aspect of the design. The crew was hard-working and respectful. They did a beautiful job. We would gladly recommend Finished Basements to others.

This was a fairy-tail experience for us. We got bamboozled by a nightmare contractor and then came across this team of absolutely stellar people.

From start to finish, every aspect of this reno was pure pleasure. There were the odd communication hiccups here and there but even those don't amount to being worth mentioning. Everything was explained well and in detail. Work was punctual and amazing.

Igor (owner) is a master at his trade and his realm of knowledge and detail is amazing. If he lays down 30" in scotch tape.....without measuring, it is within 3 mm. Very kind and amazing heart. Thank you so much Igor.

Andrij - the first face we saw from the company and he represents it extremely well. His ability to break down the numbers and the options and packages....basically atomizing the plethora of information that is involved in a whole basement reno, is second to none.  Thank you Andrij - hope i'm spelling that right man :).

Natalie - What an eye for design. Paint options, tiles, flooring, faucets......every single option that you helped us decide is nothing short of perfection. Thank you Natalie.

I honestly wish i knew the names of each and every person involved so i could thank them all once again individually. Every single aspect of the whole process was great.

The work was completed within 3 weeks through the Christmas holidays so that we would have a new living space for the new year. Mission accomplished guys.

The plumbers (Dad and son team) very kind and polite guys, went above and beyond to install our custom 16" shower head. This was quite a task and a close fit, but they did it. All the plumbing lines were run in one day....this entailed using a jack hammer and breaking through the concrete, running new drainage lines and covering with new concrete. This was all done in a day and you would never know that it was done. the finished product was as good as new. 

Electrical team, lead by Igor - I'm pretty sure if you ask this team to wire a 20 story building in a day, they will do it. 20 odd pot lights, new wiring, replacing the electrical panel with a new one, plugs...everything done per code and beautifully.

Demo and building team....these guys were fun. Music, laughing and fast as it can get. Precise work and they ALWAYS kept the space clean and safe. We have 2 curious little ones and we never thought it to be unsafe for them to go down there.

In all honesty, if paint and drywall compound dried faster, they would have been able to do the whole basement in a week. Every days progress was met with a wow from us. Not a single thing to change. You guys are amazing.

This is a bit late, but we got our basement completed May 2017! We are amazed how quick and painless our basement reno was with Vitali and his team. They are truly professional and they know what they are doing! The best part is that it clearly shows they enjoy what they are doing and they have the customer best interest from day 1. From the electricals, to plumbing, to the AV setup - there were no hiccups. We have since referred to friends who ended up using them as well and are equally pleased with the final product! Great job! The Patel's!

What a fantastic experience from start to end. Sales person was great... estimate was easy to understand and no hidden cost. work was done withing the agreed time frame. Crew was fantastic, hard working and level of craftsmanship was great. Happy with finishes and design recommendations. If i had to do the work again, I would definitely go with the same company.

"My wife & I were very happy to get an extremely nice finished basement by Finished Basement. They not only completed the job in an incredibly short 2.5 weeks, as promised, but also on budget. We were impressed with their showroom, and the quality of the standard products, and optional upgrades. Igor, the owner, meets with you at the beginning of the process, then at the end to review the final costs. He takes pride in his company and the work that they do. Most of the staff, including Andrew, Natalie, Yuri, Alex & Vitally, were easy to work with. The area is cleaned up daily.

I think they can be even better if they improved on their communication.
e.g. 1: I was told on the first day that there was plenty of room to install piping from the main basement gas line to the new fireplace. A few days later, the installer said there wasn't enough room (folded pool table in the way) to work. He instead connected to my outside BBQ pipe, and drilled a hole from the outside into the basement.
e..g 2: We were told that they could open up the staircase wall as far as a 'floor to ceiling pipe next to the stairs'. When I saw that they were short about 10"", I was told the smaller pipe below the stair stringer would be as far as it could be opened up.
e.g. 3: On 2 separate occasions, I discovered my phone was not working. The 1st time, Igor, the electrician was kind enough to fix it when he came in the evening to discuss the electrical work; however, the 2nd time, I complained to the crew early in the day, they just left without telling me anything. That night, I went to the basement and found an unplugged cable which was the cause of the problem.
e.g. 4: Complained to the crew about the central vac not working after the basement pipe was moved a inches to a new wall. Nothing was done to address this issue. The last day I said it still wasn't working. Luckily, Yuri, was able to find the cut wire with minimal damage to the finished ceiling.
e.g. 5: They provide a detailed estimate/contract document, but I suggest it be reviewed carefully to determine what is covered. We purchased a gas fireplace package, which listed a remote control. It was not crossed out and there was no indication it was not included, but we were told at the end, that it was an option."

My wife and i moved into a 2600 sq ft bungalow and we wanted to finished the basement. After seeing the reviews on homestar we met with Vitali. From the initial meeting and visit to the showroom, we new we were in good hands. The crew showed and up to watch how these gentlemen worked and how hard they worked. We added 1900 sq ft to our basement and the quality of the work was amazing. We have now lived with the basement for 6 months and we have had no issues. We added a customer steam shower, weight room, games area and vertical fireplace with a floor to ceiling stone wall. I would and have recommended this company to all my friends. great company

We decided to complete our basement this fall (2017) and we are really happy that we chose Finished Basement to do the work. We found the whole experience to be pain-free, beginning with our initial contact with Andrew who came to our home to provide the quote. Andrew explained the whole process to us in detail and if there were any questions or concerns, he got back to us promptly. Igor (the owner) was pleasant to deal with and provided helpful suggestions about our basement during his construction/design walk-through. It really helped that Finished Basement has a showroom with products to choose from. Nathalie was really easy to deal with and provided great suggestions on design coordination. The price from Finished Basement was fair and the work was completed ahead of schedule. We were extremely impressed with the crew who obviously took great pride in the quality of their work - their attention to detail, care, and workmanship were first-rate. They arrive each morning bright and early and worked long days. They always took time to answer any questions and suggestions that we had. And at the end of each work day they did a great job cleaning up.

This is a very a long-overdue review, but what can I say about them that hasn't already been said? They are absolutely the best. From the initial consultation right to the final inspection, it has been a seamless process and I am in awe of how quickly the basement transformation happened. Vitaliy, Igor, Natalie and the rest of the crew were phenomenal. Their operation is like clockwork and any questions/concerns are addressed without problems. The crew showed up bright and early every morning, and left the site cleaned at the end of each work day.

I loved them so much I have referred others to use them as well with the same happy results. I'm in love with my basement and get compliments all the time about it. Would use them again without hesitation. Thank you, team!
