Just Deck It

We initially contacted Just Deck It at the end of September and had a beautiful new deck by the end of November. Ryan's quotes were accurate and he stayed on budget. He was very punctual and efficient so the actual building of the deck from demolition to clean up took about a week. The deck itself is solid quality and beautifully finished. Thank you Ryan for your guidance throughout.

We got four estimates to replace an old fence and deck. Ryan's estimate was very competitive and even came in lower than the others when we took into account that Ryan's quote included demolishing and disposing of the old deck and fence as well as new 6X6 posts for the fence - something none of the other quotes included.

Ryan is honest, he's considerate and his craftsmanship is impeccable.,

He was open to changes as the project moved along and even accommodated a last-minute request on the last day to build me a wooden base for a shed I had purchased.

He started when he said he was going to start and finished the job on time and on budget. He was never late, always on time, and kept me abreast of the progress as it moved along.

The quality of his work is top-notch.

We wanted to replace a very small porch with something that would extend across a good portion of the front of the house, with room for a small table and chairs. We also wanted something that was not made of pressure treated wood.

We looked around the neighbourhood and found a front porch deck that was very nicely done. We asked the owners who did it: Just Deck It. We contacted Brian and he drew up plans and suggested composite decking, with a high quality white plastic fence. He told us it was all low maintenance and would last for many years.

He did all the work (not absenting himself as some contractors do) and cleaned up everything afterwards, including the old porch material. We were quite satisfied, and remain so, with the work he did for us. We now enjoy living in the house so much more--the porch was the added touch that has made our little house charming.

We were looking for someone to build our backyard deck this past summer, but had no idea where to start. We weren't sure the type of deck we wanted, which businesses to choose from, and how much it would cost.

So, we decided to look at HomeStars where we found Just Deck It.
They were rated very high and all the comments were very positive, so we decided to contact Ryan for more information.

Ryan got back to us quickly and started to discuss details of our deck. He then took our input and provided a designed sketch of our deck with an estimated cost structure outlining the different options they offer. We were impressed right away from his initiative for designing our deck. After making minor adjustments to the deck and cost, Ryan and his team started to build our deck that was scheduled late July.

We told Ryan that we would be on vacation a week later, and were concerned whether the deck would be completed before this. Ryan guaranteed it would be done.

He and his team worked extremely hard and long hours through hot and wet weather to get this completed. As mentioned in previous comments, they would ensure the work area is tidy and clean everytime they leave, and when it was all completed, there would be no garbage or trash left over, but just the beautiful deck they built us.

Ryan would also give us tips on maintaining the deck, what to watch out for, etc. He would always get back to us in a timely manner whenever there was a question. Ryan and his team were very friendly and respectful.

Their website also provides a lot of information that I wanted to see (like pricing). More so than other deck building company websites I've been to. Everything about Just Deck It is transparent and that's what I look for as a customer.

I would definitely recommend Just Deck It to anyone looking to build a deck. Their service, quality of work and commitment to satisfy the customer is top-notch.

This review is long overdue - we've hired Just Deck It twice now, once to build a new front porch and stairs and (after moving into a new house) to rebuild the fence in the backyard. Both times Ryan was terrific. Great to work with, and stellar quality work. We plan to hire him again next time we need a deck- or fence-related project completed. Can't recommend him highly enough.
