This is the second time we have used MaxGreen; same excellent team. This time it was for a stainable Ply Gem Fiberglass Entry door; last time it was for a Duxton fiberglass window and sliding fiberglass patio door with which we have been extremely pleased. With the exception of two issues the installation went well and was very well done. The mortise work on the door could not have been done better - it was perfect. All necessary time was spent getting the door reveal the same all around the door.
One issue was the delay in getting the door stained in a timely manner. The contractor used did a good job but was slow which resulted in me indicating I would prefer to paint the inside of the door frame myself in the spring when the weather warmed up sufficiently notwithstanding they said they would be happy to paint it. I was given a credit for this. Several of our friends indicated they thought it was a wooden door even though they were told it was fiberglass; a convincing stain job.
The other issue was the fact that the peephole was off center just enough to be annoying. I didn't pick up on this until after the door was installed. Next time I would skip the peephole or specify that it must be centered precisely and measure it before staining.
Another item of interest relates to the BoltBuddy. We were assured several times by Parry Bros. that it could be installed on a fiberglass door. However, when they arrived we were told there was a 60% chance that the door would split and the risk was ours. Not surprisingly we did not have it installed.
We will continue to replace our windows with fiberglass ones and we anticipate using MaxGreen again.

Hello Doug, thank you for your kind words. Those fiberglass doors certainly do make a statement when professionally finished. I definitely understand your frustration on the door staining delay, so once again I would like to apologize for that. We certainly strive to have all projects completed in a timely manner, but when we add addtional steps to the process like the professional staining, it can increase lead times when we are working with other trades. We have since discussed this project with our finisher and will be working closely with him to ensure timeliness of these projects moving forward. I look forward to working with you again when you are ready for your new fiberglass windows! Thanks again for your business, as it truly is appreciated. Adam.
