Aluminum wiring nightmare solved!
...When we recently renewed our Home-owners Insurance, the agent asked us for the first time whether our home had copper wiring or aluminum. We had no idea.
After checking with our strata we found it was indeed aluminum.
Well, the insurance agent then requested we have an electrical inspection and risk assessment! what a nightmare!
I found Robert's website and learned he offered this service, and a solution :including re-splicing each and every switch, receptacle and fixture, both inside and out. We got a quote and he got his crew in the very next week. I thought the whole house would take 8 - 10 hours. His crew was done in 7. The next day Robert provided us with a letter of completion stating the work performed, and that the house is now up to code regarding the aluminum wiring. Thanks Burton, it looks like most Insurance companies are now requiring a close look at the aluminum wiring. We have done many aluminum wiring inspections and resplicing. As discussed rewiring is not required. The project went well and on time and on budget as you said. Experience counts for something right?!
