The Cutting Edge Roofing

Rob and his crew replaced a terribly installed flat roof on our home. He took the time to explain things to me properly without overselling. Unlike many of the other companies we got quotes from, Rob himself came to our home, not a salesperson. His price was very reasonable, included additional products that other companies did not and even installed a vent for our bathroom, a skylight and ripped out the chimney! All in all, it looks great, the team was friendly, cleaned up well and even put up my Christmas lights! (just kidding)

The shingles on my house were falling apart pretty quickly. Robert and his team came and helped. The quote was reasonable (and lower than the others I got), Robert took the time to explain all the work that he suggested, saved me money by not suggesting unnecessary work, and even offered to fix a bit of the soffit that had come off in a storm. The work itself is great - as was the customer service. My neighbour, who was home when the work was done, complimented me on how careful they were with the cleanup. I didn't find one nail anywhere, and the shingle mess (of four layers of old shingles) was tidied up beautifully. All in all, a great experience - I would recommend the company to anyone.

We had a leak in our kitchen ceiling emanating from the flat roof above it (caused by an electrician cutting into the roofing material!). On the flat roof is a deck. We removed the planks and called in several roofers. They all offered re-do the flat roof (once we removed the decking – which would have been a major and expensive undertaking). Only Robert actually got down on his hands and knees to inspect the existing roof; he determined that the roof is in good condition and we need only patch the problem areas.

We asked Robert to return and check our work, which he did the next day. His advice (given at no charge) on what to do (and what to avoid e.g. ensure air circulation and good drainage) not only saved us a lot of money it also gave us peace of mind.

We had asked all the roofers to inspect the rest of our roofing and they all identified a small area of shingling on the back of the house as a priority problem. On Robert’s second visit, we asked him if he would consider re-shingling this small area, which he did within days.

We were impressed with how quickly Robert returned our calls, made time to visit the house, and gave us advice that was best for us but did not benefit his bottom line. And, of course, we are very happy that the newly shingled part of the roof is now winter-proof.

We will certainly ask Robert to quote on any future roofing work we might need.

Robert had all the right answers to my questions. He was very informative and knowledgeable. He was never too busy to answer my questions/concerns. My overall experience with Robert and his company was very positive.

The Cutting Edge Roofing Company responded promptly to my call regarding a quote for our roof. Their quote was 2400 dollars less then the next closest quote and they started two days after I decided to go with them. All of their skilled laborers were very polite and pleasant to speak with. They finished the job in two days working long hours with few breaks. Not only were all the shingles replaced they also added nine new vents and replaced any rotten boards. Their clean up was so good that the front yard and backyard were actually cleaner than before they came. All and all it was one of the most pleasant experiences regarding home repair I have ever had.

My roof is 12 years old and I needed a valley replaced. Robert did a great job, he was very knowledgeable, fast and clean. He also did the job for less than half the cost of my second quote, and he also did a free roof tune up. Definitely will be my first choice to do the entire roof when the time comes. Had Rob and the team come over to replace the roof at the house which had been done only 13 years ago. Rob knows his stuff and you wont be disapointed. Not only is he courteous and pleasant to work with but he ( and the guys) will always go out of their way to make sure you are happy - from the quote to the clean up. After watching many episodes of Holmes on Homes, I was very concerned to find the right roofing contractor to replace my shingles. Luckily I contacted Robert Landry at The Cutting Edge Roofing. They covered the entire working area with tarps and put plywood sheeting over my windows. The job was finished in one day and exactly as quoted. I needed one roof vent installed. Robert was quick to respond to my phone call. We talked about my venting needs and he came the next day to see what he could or could not do. So many other contractors I contacted would either not return my call or would not do such a small job. Not only did Robert come by promptly, but he bought along materials he believed I might need based entirely on that one phone discussion. As it turned out, the product was exactly what was needed and he did the job with enthusiasm in just a little over 1 hour. It was a beastly hot, humid day and he worked pleasantly fast and efficient all the while informing me of what he was doing and why one aspect was better than another. Robert and crew were very professional - they replaced our roof (plywood, shingles, skylight, vents, etc...) in one day. Total cleanup was done after installation.

A glass pane in our porch was broken during the installation - Robert made sure it was repaired and replaced before he collected his payment. He did not ask for an advance on the project.
