J R Painting And Household Repair

This company made our kitchen renovation look fabulous, and also spruced up some other areas of our home with fresh paint. The company is very professional, reliable, knowledgeable, and does excellent workmanship. They work efficiently but do not cut corners. I am particularly pleased with their completion of a mosaic tile backsplash. They are honest, pleasant and positive to deal with. I highly recommend them!

Jill has done a few jobs for us over the last couple of years at our home and rental properties. She is punctual, makes terrific suggestions to save time and money, very reasonably priced and does excellent work - and most of all, she is just a wonderful person.

Most notably she handled an unexpected roofing disaster for us while we were out of the country -she made time to essentially manage this for us, deal with upset tenants and get the right trades in to assist. Very very highly recommended.

Jill and her team were committed to doing the job thoroughly and professionally. They worked long hours to ensure the job was done properly and Jill particularly was very helpful in making sure that the paint colours, etc. were absolutely to our liking. After a few trips to the paint store and a number of samples we were able to find just the right colour. The paint was also of a high quality which is much better considering the paint-job will be longer lasting and there were two coats applied plus a primer coat. It's not easy to deal with 90 year old houses and the shape some of the wood is in on these homes but Jill did her best to guarantee the old paint was stripped properly before the new paint was applied. Thanks also to her partner Brian who helped out with some of the woodwork that was left unfinished by the window installers.

We have had Jill do painting work at our offices on 3 occasions. Each time she was on time, completed the work in a timely and professional manner (including minor repairs).

Recently Jill of J.R. Painting provided us the service of painting and completing minor repairs and renovations to the interior of our house(these have included but are not limited to lighting purchase and installation and drywall touch ups). She has worked on two projects - initially the main and upper floors were painted and lighting fixtures were replaced and subsequently the basement was finished whereby ceilings, walls and trim were painted in addition to trim being installed around the doors. Jill was not only professional and reliable, she took the time and initiative to suggest improvements that affected the overall satisfaction of our project. Though living through renovations is always somewhat of an inconvenience, Jill managed to make the experience quite seamless. The work was cleaned up daily so as not to impede on one's day to day life. Jill was always respectful and conscientious of my (her customer's) needs and schedule. Often times when possible she went above and beyond what was expected! I would certainly recommend J.R Painting for your painting needs and more!

We needed some help painting a hallway with high ceilings, a new vaulted skylight, old plaster walls, and worn trim (90 year old bannisters, baseboards, and doors).

Two painters from JR Painting helped us enormously in a short amount of time, at a reasonable cost. Jill (the principle of JR painting) and her partner (and spouse) Brian completed the job in 4 days, with great results.

They took pains to improve the condition of old walls and trim -- and even improved the drywall finish on our new skylight shaft -- before painting. At our request, they used eco-friendly paints (zero VOC), which were harder to apply than we anticipated, but they persevered to ensure a clean finish.

They tidied meticulously at the end of each day, and carefully sealed off areas where they were generating dust from sanding. They arrived promptly every day, and finished on-budget and a bit ahead of schedule (even though we tacked on an additional task along the way).

Jill says she's been in the business for 12 years, and grew up with a contractor father -- her experience and attention to detail show in her work.

Apparently Brian also runs a carpentry business ("Swift Services" -- listed elsewhere on Homestars), so he would be able to address a range of home repair or construction jobs too. We did not use him in that capacity this time, but given his good ideas and attention to detail while painting, we would certainly consider contacting him for such work if need arises.

Very experienced, on time, ON BUDGET (no add ons), female owned, fantastic advice, goes beyond spec of contract to help in every way possible, cleans exceptionally well at the end of each day and walls look spectacular!!! Had stucco ceilings plastered to make them smooth so didn't have to drywall and they look amazing, also fixed all the old lathe and plaster walls with plaster and paint and they look unreal!!! If you need painting and all the finishings done without having to call 10 people (light fixtures, baseboards, quarter round, design colour and choices) this is the company!!!!!
