Basement Waterproofing
I hired Umbrella Waterproofing & Plumbing Solutions based on a positive recommendation from my brother.
Vlad came to do an inspection and provided a quote for the work to be done. $2500, I hired them.
A few days after work was completed, I inspected the crawl space where his team had done the waterproofing work after it rained the previous evening. It was wet. Called the company and Vlad came by to inspect the work. They had to re-do a few areas where the water was still coming into the basement, it had to do with the membrane...it wasn't applied correctly in a few areas. Also Vlad said that water was coming into the basement in another area. Another $500 charge for the repair.
Following a very heavy rainstorm a few weeks later, I checked the crawl space again and water was now coming in through the ceiling. I contacted Umbrella, and Vlad came out to diagnose. He said he would get back to me the following Monday. 2 months later, I've heard nothing back from him or his company. I spoke to the receptionist and left several voicemails to contact me. No correspondence.
It's odd that when they wanted my business in the beginning, there were quick call-backs and friendly service. Now they have my money, they are ignoring my calls.....and I still have a wet basement. Contractors are contractors...they take your money and then they're gone! I would not recommend them.
