Hello Charles. Thanks for taking the time to post a review.
It is customary for a contractor to be paid upon substantial completion of the contracted work – in your case, the installation of new windows on April 2nd. Customers are legally allowed to hold back 10% for up to 40 days from substantial completion as insurance in case something goes wrong, but are otherwise required to pay (there was never any mention of a statutory hold back to our office or our sales representative). These payment terms are very clear on our installation contract, which you signed.
In the very rare circumstance that our client is unable to pay us immediately upon completion of their project, we take the usual measures to attempt to collect. In your case, a number of polite requests for payment were made by our staff both by telephone and by email. On April 2nd we were told that the cheque was in the mail. Last week after following up again by email and phone, we were notified that the cheque had been put in the mail on April 11th. We just received this yesterday.Again, thank-you for your review Charles.
