We wanted a wood-studded structural wall in our basement removed and replaced with steel ceiling beams and a supporting steel post. We reviewed several companies on homestars.com and decided on this one.

Despite a couple of minor setbacks along the way, which were quickly and professionally handled, our experience dealing with Jerson, Orlando and their various crew and tradesmen was quite positive. Jerson, our main contact, was quite friendly, knowledgeable, honest and willing to work with us to keep the job within a reasonable budget. Although they sometimes could not indicate a time when they would be coming in to work until the night before or even on the day of, they would show up almost precisely at the time they said they would.

There were a couple things in particular that we found to be positive. There was much back and forth that occurred prior to signing the contract over the timing and price of the work. We were having it done towards the end of December and it had to spill into January. As a result, the job price had to be subjected to a yearly increase in materials cost. However, Jerson was quite willing to work with us to come up with a solution which minimized this increase.

Also, an oversight on the structural drawings had led to a steel beam being cut too short and had to reordered. Rather than increasing the cost to us, he was honest with us and admitted the responsibility laid with him and his structural engineer.

We were quite happy with the work and overall experience. We would certainly recommend them to others and would hire them again for any future contractor work of our own.
