Got quote (then contract) for lawncutting and edging $130/mth with another $50 extra for trimming of shrubs/bushes under 6 feet. We previously used another service for 3 yrs (and have returned to them)
After a month of good service on lawncutting and edging , my wife asked the crew (who were always good) about the shrubs/bushes. They said they didn't know and that they would "have to ask "Bill". We waited. Three more weeks went by with no results. My wife politely called "Gordie" (female) at the Pickering office. She was nice on the phone and said she would mention it to "Bill" who would have the crew do it that Friday. That Friday, the lawn was fine but again nothing for the shrubs/bushes. I left a message that Friday indicating that we would be canceling our use of TheGardener and politely asked Gordie to call us. She left a message and I called back. Gordie explained that she mentioned it to "Bill" and she could not explain why nothing was done. She did slip perhaps, in saying that the shrubs/bushes were only done twice a season. Well, that would have been nice too know when we signed on. Never mind that they never did ours at all, that the contract does not states twice a season -- while charging an extra $50/every month, and that "Bill" appears to hide behind his employees. I asked Gordie to have Bill contact me as I want a refund of the extra $50/month -- and I really want to hear from Bill on how he is running the business: managing the crew(s); happily charging for services not preformed; and (iii) not willing to directly speak to clients about the services -- instead clearly telling his employees to simply say "we will tell Bill". No call from "Bill".
I tried to register a BBB conmplain but TheGardener Pickering is curiously not registered. Equally interesting is the inability to phone or email head office based on their website.
