Jason managed to take a project that was quite overwhelming to us and turn it into an event that was quite enjoyable. As anyone who has done a major renovation knows, it can be a really messy affair. Jason was always extremely thoughtful and careful to control the mess and confine it to the work area.
Our kitchen had a wall around it, separating it from the living and dining area. We had been looking at different kitchens that we could buy from some of the major kitchen suppliers in Calgary. Of course none of them were custom built or designed. Little things just never seemed to work for us. It was all beginning to give us headaches. What we needed was someone who could help us with lighting, removing walls, repairing ceilings etc., but it always seemed as though these were things that we would have to look after ourselves. Being able to order in fixed sizes only, meant wasting space with fillers or having to put in smaller cupboards than we wanted. Even just getting the sink centered with the window would have been a nightmare.
This is when Jason came into the picture. He was referred to us by friends who had had him do some work for them. From the first time we met him, we found him to be a pleasant and very likeable person. He was always extremely organized and knew exactly what questions to ask. He was very good at explaining how he was going to proceed with the work and how much time we had to make decisions as to fixtures, appliances etc., that we were going to install. We knew the style of kitchen we wanted and it didn’t take him long to measure everything and take it from a rough sketch to a finished drawing with almost photo quality pictures of what the kitchen would look like when it was done. Jason invited us to see his shop where he does his work. He uses only the highest quality tools so the results are outstanding.
Once we made the decision to give Jason the work, we signed a contract with him. We were extremely happy with his attention to detail and his ideas to make the finished product the masterpiece that we wanted. His workmanship is second to none. He was able to custom size the cupboards as required to make them fit exactly, so there were no issues with moving the dishwasher to the other side of the sink or moving the stove 12” to the left or even building a narrow full length half depth cupboard with the chimney behind it.
Jason also had all the connections as far as sub-trades were concerned. He lined up the electrician, the plumber, the tile installer, the drywall installer, the texturing company and the insulation installer.
All in all, I would recommend Jason to anyone who wants an experienced Journeyman Carpenter and Finisher, that knows what he’s doing and will give you absolutely the highest quality of work that you will find anywhere. Jason will give you the complete package and when you sign the contract you can be assured that you do not need to worry about things being missed or left out. He has a way of taking the stress out of any renovations you decide to do.
